This Video presents the six bells d(♭)1 -f1 -a(♭)1[-a(♭)1] -h(♭)1 -d(♭)2 [re(♭)3 -fa3 -la(♭)3 [la(♭)3 ] -si(♭)3-re(♭)4] of St. Anna - church in Vogt. It is one of the most beautiful peals I've ever listened to.
➥ The bell history of St. Anna begins with the start of construction of the new church in 1833, when the not necessarily wealthy congregation was looking for bells for their new place of worship.
Due to secularization, there were a number of bells for sale at the time. Among others, the present bell [VI] came to Vogt from the dissolved Benedictine convent Urspring near Schelklingen. It was cast for this convent in 1623. The master craftsman was the bell founder Volmer from Biberach.
After the Second World War, only this bell remained in St. Anna. After the war, the desire for new bells quickly arose. These new bells were finally cast in 1949 by the Grüninger bell foundry in inexpensive "Weißbronze". Due to the material, the bells had a very poor sound.
At the beginning of the 1960s, the vicar in Vogt expressed the wish to have a new, melodious peal made. So in 1962, the "Weißbronze" bells were given away except for the former largest bell [ I ] and a new, five-part peal [1+2+3+4+5] was cast at the Gebhard bell foundry. Since then, the "fallen bell" stands on a large open space in front of the church as a memorial.
The historic bell [VI] was retained, but its tone was doubled. Since then, this bell has only used as a solo bell.
The peal is of exceptional beauty and is based in particular on the powerful, tonally outstanding large bell. A refurbishment some time ago, during which a new belfry and new yokes and clappers were installed, significantly improved the sound of the bells once again. Today it is one of the most beautiful peals in this region!
