Speaking of the high quality that VOB has..I highly recommend the reaction to "Kentut Merdeka" or "Say No To A Sick Act" from VOB live in Jakarta 2019..that song is literally a masterpiece...pure progressive metal..I have heard every song from VOB, but Kentut Merdeka is something special..you will be pleasantly surprised..

Marsya (singer/guitarist): “We definitely had our doubts in the beginning because it never occurred to us how a protest song could have vocal melodies of a sunnier disposition. However, once we tried it out and had a listen, we ended up loving the end results. It felt like there was another side to VOB that has never been unveiled before until now, with this approach. A fun side, yet still very much VOB.” They have an album coming soon! Finally!!!

It seems many of these bands from Asia over the last 10 years. And I will include from Japan, Bend-Maid, Nemophilia and this group (from Indonesia). Seem to have found the magic ingredient. To pull more fans into the metal genre. And that's to incorporate melodic instrumentation choruses and vocals. In too many of their songs. And so far for these three groups it has worked fairly well. I'm mostly a classic rock, rock, hard rock and only a little bit of a metal fan. But the way these Asian groups have composed their songs. I think it's something the West could learn from. Too many metal acts and metal fans. For some reason think melodic song structure and melody is like kryptonite. They alienate themselves from listening to so much great music for thinking that way. Just my two cents and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the reaction, gat song and have a great day.

PMS stands for Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya [ women who are completely independent ] This song was actually written by Marsya (vocals, guitar), Widi (bass), and Sitti (drums) during high school around 2017 together with their counseling teacher and mentor Abah Erza. “We write songs fueled by the residual energy we leave after school. At that time, we were very enthusiastic about school activities, so basically we had to drag ourselves to the studio for workshops,” recalls Marsya. PMS is an expression of VOB's antipathy, displeasure, and anger towards their current situation, both lyrically and musically. Despite the conditions they were in, there wasn't a trace of fatigue in the songs they produced. The main inspiration behind the lyrics of "PMS" comes from a series of short stories written by Indonesian writer Feby Indirani entitled "Bukan Perawan Maria" [ Not the Virgin Mary ]. This single focuses on VOB's protest against discriminatory and judgmental behavior that tends to be aimed at women who have different mindsets, perspectives, attitudes, and even desires or dreams compared to the norm. Departing from a region where social norms are heavily influenced by not only religious values ​​but also patriarchy, the VOB has had its fair share of gender-based discrimination in the past. The absence of post-high school life options for many girls other than marriage will be one of them. The same goes for career options, which are limited for VOBs and their peers due to gender discrimination. "Ironically, it's not just men who would display such behavior, but our fellow women as well!" Marsya commented.
