Thanks for this update. It’s nice to have more sound design options. However there you guys from Bitwig should be more focused on community requests. Base on comments a little list. - MIDI comping - Capture listening MIDI (like Ableton) - Video suport - Scale highlight or scale lock, chords etc…. - Improve automations and midi editor - Allowing MIDI exports that don't have the entire project in them (e.g. a single clip) - Skin editor, dark mode for arrangement etc.. - Correct handling of sustain and other pedals in clips (apparently that one is on the road map, I asked). - Being able to export in different tracks each pad/instruments of the Drum Machine device - A good and simple freeze function - VariAudio type of editor I know that you guys from Bitwig are passionate about what you do. But you need to start looking more at what the community is asking for.
@@BappinProductions NO there isnt. there are no step sequencing feature as found in logic or studio one....why do so many peeps talk like others don't use the software..why do so many peeps always have a self centered perspective that they never seem to respect feature demands by others. jeez
@@ucheattoh you can build something very close in Note Grid and then save a preset. This is the Bitwig way, they give you the tools and then you build stuff yourself. Logic and Studio One aren't open ended, so you are totally reliant on whatever devices they provide, Bitwig have given us the freedom to build pretty much anything we want/need, make use of it instead of complaining on the internet.
As an Ableton user who is keeping an eye on Bitwig, I must say that the sound design part is becoming overwhelming (from outside at least), while essential workflow requests are getting ignored. This is why I won't switch to Bitwig or renew my upgrade plan too soon. I'm feeling that Bitwig is so close to become the greatest DAW, but it's just shooting itself in the foot. My 50 cents.
Exactly, they emerged to conquer the DAW space with lightning fast workflow, but somebody in the management got carried away with all the sound design grid stuff disregarding what people actually need. From what I understand Bitwig is supposed to be simple and user friendly DAW, but all the Grid stuff takes it in the opposite direction. Like where is video and scoring implementation, Dolby Atmos?
This is a feature on Strobe 2. I used it a lot, to distribute voices between different filters, oscillator mixes, Envelope and Lfo depths, all sorts of stuff. I've only got into Bitwig recently and I'm looking forward to experimenting with this..
Man. If you yaw added something like a chopping feature to the sampler to perform chops on the drum rack. This would likely be my go to daw for mostly everything . If you all added something more for the hip hop producer , bitwig would have just about everything for everybody.
slice to drum machine? I work with breaks and chopping samples in bitwig and it's great. you can easily layer pads with anything you want, even have round robin samples as an additional layer, not to mention the replacer/generator effect, all with stock bitwig plugins, fast as fuck, infinite creative options tbf
@@jungresonant9772 I'm referring to taking a sample and chopping that sample within the sampler and assigning those chops non destructively to the drum rack. Similar to Live's simpler.
please add an option for dark arrangement background. no need for full theme support - just dark mode for arrangement view will suffice. thank you. also, great tutorial on voice stacking! (just can’t let opportunities for this longstanding accessibility feature go in-requested 😅)
If you are not yet using Bitwig then you are living in the past. Bitwig is not only the future: it is a lifetime of creative expression. Keep those updates coming. Danke!
@@carnalexxx This is the holy grail of sound design into spatial audio. Bitwig is tantalizing close to it being more than possible, but without multichannel inputs and outputs through devices, it is impossible to make use of all this voicestacking power. If they could view it not as multi-unisons but multi-outputs it would be so amazing.
@@SamHocking I was able yesterday to use this voice stacking technique to create a simple rotation in a quad system using eurorack. It's definitely already possible just feels clunky to work with atm.
"Nature's golden relationship..." Yes, very nice, but when are you going to finish this product? I love and use Bitwig but I'm so frustrated... it won't be a real DAW until it fully supports MIDI, and at the moment I am forced to run Cubase alongside it to cover the things it can't do. PLEASE focus on the ESSENTIALS at some point. (In case you're wondering, I'm referring in part to the way piano pedals are dropped from MIDI export, which makes it utterly useless.)
will, u ever going to add skin options ? i know ur refining the daw ( and i respect that) but im sick of looking at grey and orange , i pay for bitwig and to renovate subscription , and i feel like you listen to ppls needs, but u listen to a certain point , it's like it doesnt matter for u guys (its not a game changer but would be appreciated for ppl that like to personalize things if you guys add themes option, and i know its not so hard to do) , (or so long to do it) u guys release feature after feature and u could have done this ages ago. Plz attend more to ppls requests , more ppl ask for this its not just me . Besides that u are doing a freaking good job
Been waiting for an update or sale on digital performer for a long time. Long enough that Bitwig has had about 5 major updates and sales in that time. Bitwig is awesome and in comparison puts Motu to shame with new features added. Sorry Motu but you really need to change something because Bitwig is really kicking you arss these days. Bigtime.
I love Bitwig so much, but...! First of all - we need ready tools for creating music, not anyone wants to spend a time with grid by trying to build plugin that we could use in one simple view like in other DAWs or just 3rd party plugins. What i am waiting in next versions of Bitwig. - Vintage compressor(maybe different emulations) - mix knob for old compressor and dynamic plugin - multiband compressor (ott maybe) - dynamic EQ with sc - multiband distortion with different types of distortion at any band - Reverb + (with really good sound) - Shimmer reverb of shimmer mode for Reverb + - supermassive reverb like black hole of mode for Reverb+ - build-in unison for PHASE 4 - dark grey arranger view(main space with audio and midi clips) - reworked NEW browser - bunch of EDM ready fat kick and snares sound library - second oscillator for polymer and build-in unison - FM4 + (unison, ability to draw waveforms) - Granular synthesizer - pattern sequencer mode for key editor - FM oscillator for grid(polymer) that contains 4 operators in one module - fm modulation for Polysynth - NEW vintage synth with fat sound
@@TheQxYwhat would be cool is if there was an EQ+ where there were chains for both the filtered signal and the inverse filtered signal, with a mixer at the end 🤔
The chaining options of bitwig gives almost limitles possibilities to create your own multiband .... Whatever you like. Check out the filter + plugin and combine 3 of those in a multi fx container. All the distorions...
@@endonyxoneaudio8644 Yes, I get that. What I was talking about is the possibility to automatically have an inverted EQ chain, so as you modify the curves, the filtered and reverse filtered outputs track. I do appreciate you can do it already, albeit with a lot more setup and the need for multiple EQ's
i use bitwig to write generative music. i hope you will make more parameters modulatable (such as inspector parameters of clips, dice module on steps) and randomizable (humanize function for msegs, random distribution of automation points (similarly to alt+click for expressions)). wavetable editor and grid containers are also major. best daw in the game nontheless 🦾🥇
