Merci, Dr. Marc Reynolds! Bravo, Dimash!

I love how Dimash is into this performance. I love the vocals, the interpretation, the acting... everything! Dimash is a legend already, he is music royalty! 👑 Great analysis! Love from 🇲🇽

Dimash acted out Jekyll and especially Hyde perfectly, with his voice, his positioning and expecially his eyes. The evil Hyde look he would come up with was just fantastic! Earlier, he went from Hyde to Jekyll in one sentence with his eyes. His posture would change from straight (Jekyll) to slightly crouched (Hyde). In his voice if you know the story, you know exactly when he is singing Jekyll or Hyde.

What I love the most about this performance was his eyes and face expressions.. He's telling me the story of the song, as if he was dr. Jekyll and mr. Hyde himself.

Before even hearing your comments since I have heard this song so very many times...I love his expressive face, eyes especially and how can you not like how he performs with that voice? LoL I say that because I make my sister listen to him and in return she makes me listen to country music. We both know what it is like to have to listen to the other's choices. **** knees would have been so out of place, not even talking about the comfort level. I do think he drops easy but I also think if we were not so enmeshed with his music in such a short time the knee thing would be just fine. It would show just how much passion he is putting into his music. Lots of singers have things they do. I don't mind his knee dropping at all because I am feeling his music by the time he gets there. I have noticed his foot stance in many of his videos and wondered if it meant anything, glad to hear why he is doing it. Thanks!
@Pallada8888
@Pallada8888 5 лет назад
My favourite part of this performance is when he's singing "I'm ready to surrender" and then the breathtaking look in his amazing eyes and his facial expression when in the second chorus he's singing "I'll kill Mr. Hyde". And of course, the last bit: "Now you're Mademoiselle Hyde". His evil side had planned and played it out so perfectly and his poor victim had gotten right into his web. Now, it's she who's cursed..Gosh, I just love this brilliant song!!!! Igor is a genius and Lara Fabian's lyrics are amazing...Also, I thought that the orchestra and the background singers did a great job, helping to creat that haunting atmosphere... Thank you for your fantastic reaction and analysis, Marc! Much appreciated, as always.

Such an excellent presentation of vocal techniques. I was engaged watching Dimash body position , with his legs apartt then close them together as he reaches the very high notes, the moving back and forth of his left foot and the locking of his knees I had a strong idea that with these different positions while singing different octaves/ notes are giving him leverage of getting the right breathing techniques. Dr. Reynolds, your analysis makes my guess correct. Thank you. Dimash is a big picture to analyze . An excellent amazing artist!!!!

I love his acting in this performance, how he's playing with the two characters, dr Jekyll and mr Hyde. You hear it in his tone who's singing at the moment, you see it in his posture, his facial expression. My favourite chills moment is at the end of the last soft chorus sung by dr Jekyll and just at the end, you see mr hyde peak out when he looks up and it's just pure evil 🤣

Great reaction Marc - wow ! Dimash is a born story teller, and his medium is music. , he weaves a spell around his listeners that pulls us into his world from the first note to the last. And it's not just the music and lyrics; he does it with everything he’s got - from his facial expression, his eyes, his hands seemingly plucks the notes from the air, to his stance, I've always said Dimash doesn’t just sing a song. He becomes the song. And if God has a voice I'm sure it would sound like this !! Stunning, simply stunning. Thank you from New Zealand.

As usual your analysis of this was outstanding. I am learning SO much from you. I don't comprehend how you notice all the aspects of the performance in such a small amount of time. While I am mesmerized by Dimash's chilling, evil portrayal of Hyde, being drenched in his beautiful voice, you are noticing lights, colors, little things off the the left or right, foot movement. hand tension, status building, lighting on the costume and what it means, subliminal cues to the audience, and of course all the internal things Dimash is doing with his vocal chords, micro muscles, and diaphragm, etc. etc.. You have increased my appreciation of Dimash immensely, and it was pretty darn high to begin with. Wow. I can't thank you enough. Also REMOVE that old picture of you in the circle on the right hand side. Its not flattering, and you are a handsome man.

I would love to hear your thoughts on Dimash's hands. One thing that was fascinating to me was at the end there you could see his hand shake right before the vibrato came in and the hand shake intensified as the vibrato did. All through the performance I saw that his hands were almost like wings - you could see kinda where he was and where he was going by watching their position, like if a hawk stretches its wings or folds them. When he opens his voice up high and wide, he pulls his hand/arm back. It goes beyond conducting himself up and down, he is conducting the intensity of his breath and texture. It could also be that his hands drain off extra tension. It's very graceful, it's integrated with his whole body, and it's really beautiful to watch.

Dear Dr. Mark, this is a review from the recording of the program: “How to describe Dimash’s voice when you listen to him live and from close range? To be honest, it’s impossible. But understanding how interesting it is for those who have not had such an opportunity, I will try to share with my impressions)). From the place where I was located, I heard his voice not only through the microphone, but also directly - this is a very strong impression, because Dimas ’voice without a microphone is richer, fuller and not even“ warm ”, and “hot.” To catch and convey all his magic sound technology is just cannot. A simultaneous double effect - both 3D-volume of voice and literally subcutaneous penetration. And all the receptors in the body react to its living resonance and the body turns into one large organ of perception, which every cell senses all the nuances, colors and shades of voice. At the same time, his preoccupation with the process is energetically transmitted, literally drawing music into his sense. And another strong impression hit the memory, "freeze-frame" - at some point he sang, turning to the other side of me and I saw It was how his muscles on his back moved under the fabric of the suit, when he added anew to the anchoring at the head-neck level and his back - just at that time a powerful sound was needed))) Singing alongside Dimash is a guarantee of a changed state of consciousness, refusal memory and thought processes; all this his voice replaces the feeling of fullness of life and a bright feeling of happiness. When the sound of the voice slowly disappeared into the air, even the lead was difficult to immediately continue the story - so full was the immersion in music. But the ruthless scenario forced to move on. The camera recorded the faces of those who were at the moment in the studio - their wide eyes and smiles speak for themselves. After the broadcast, we were approached by a woman who heard Dimash for the first time. She did not find the words to express her delight, admiration, surprise, to describe her emotions. For her, the premiere was not only the songs, but the premiere of the phenomenon itself named Dimash. And we were happy with her. We were just happy ... The voice that fills you with life, that's what Dimash is. Listening to him is close, it’s like taking a sip of eternity. Not less. Alice Almaz

The way you were speaking of how we place our feet and how we stand while we are singing, is exactly the way I was instructed when I had vocal lessons. I started singing on my own to Stevie Nicks many years ago. I audition for a musical when I was 16 because I wanted a chorus part. I got in the call backs & I was not an actress, but a vocalist & I could play five musical instruments then. I went to callbacks and when the cast was put up, I landed the lead. I was hated!! I was a 16-year-old and these adults who desperately wanted the part in Oliver twist were not exactly pleased. I learned how to act and I was given a dialogue coach but I caught on quickly. By the time I started singing, all of the haters shut their mouths. I wanted so badly to tell them that I didn’t ask for the part. I was put there & entrusted that I was going to do a good job. You’re absolutely correct on our body positioning!!!
