Hello again , my lovely fans! Another "Voice Teacher Reacts To" coming at ya! I figured, since I'm a certified voice teacher, that I should take part and give my own input ! With the help of my student, we analyze Marc Martel's cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Marc was born in 1976, so Freddie was very much still alive. Which then begs the question, what was Marc's mom doing circa February, 1976 while Queen was touring northern USA? Marc was born in Montreal, Canada in November.

At the end of the operatic part, he doesn't sing the high note because it was Roger (The drummer of queen), who sang it. So it was right that he chose to not do it.

Yeah, about the high note. That was always Roger Taylor's note. You'd never ever hear Freddie go there in studio, nor live. I’m not sure how much of a rock fan you are but it would be very interesting to see your thoughts on two of the most celebrated rock/metal vocalists of all time - Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and Rob Halford of Judas Priest. If you are game, maybe try Bruce singing “Hallowed Be Thy Name” and Rob singing “Victim of Changes”. Just saying...

Marc Martel has identical structure to Freddie. His voice sounds like Freddie's even when he sings his own songs. It's genetic but he also knows how to use his gifts...that high note you refer to is Roger Taylor's not Freddie's.his voice and pitch have been compared to Freddie's through the Spectral test.. he's 98% identical. Also when he sings he mixes the studio and live version.
