Faouzia is a 20yo Moroccan 🇲🇦 (living in Canada) She never took any vocal lesson she writes her songs by herself she's a multi-instrumentalist (violin, guitare and piano ) she speaks 3 languages fluently (english, arabic and french) and she still following her engineer studies She did a song (BATTLE) with David guetta on his ICONIC album 7 when she was 17 She made a song with a famous french rapper called Ninho for his album, the song (MONEY) went platinium She sang ( I FLY) featuring Galantis for the film SCOOB She also sang with Kelly Clarkson the arab version of (I DARE YOU) She made a song (MINEFIELDS) with the one and only JOHN LEGEND She also droped out an EP of all her stripped songs .. it's amazingly wonderful and mind-blowing.

I wonder to what extent her Middle Eastern background influences the colors of her voice...it sometimes sounds like she uses a “trill” that is common in Arab singers/songs...so unique for a “western” singer!

I love how you have the ability to analyze a singer without making it boring to listen to for one, and also being able to explain things in terms that us non-music majors and teachers can understand what you're talking about. I find learning about how the voice works where singing is concerned and all the things people do or don't do that make singing happen or make it easier and all the other technical aspects of it but I've tried watching the videos of many vocal teachers and coaches and there are only a few who's channels I returned to after a video or two because I found that most are either only trying to show off their own voices or talent, constantly singing over the artist they're supposed to be watching to see if they can hit this note or that note themselves or just to show that they have a nice voice as well and you end up hearing more of them singing themselves more than the artist or any intelligent analysis whatsoever. Either that or they do a good job of analyzing but they do it in a way that, to me, just sounds like they're trying to sound smart, like they want to show off just how intelligent they are about it that they end up making it to where it's just confusing and uninteresting to listen to because they're trying so hard to sound smart that it almost sounds like they're reading the things they say right from a textbook or something. I love how you can break things down to where anyone, especially people like me who know nothing about any of it but find it interesting, can follow easily and understand exactly what you're talking about, and do it without boring us to tears and making it feel like we're sitting thru a lecture on the subject. I also love your positivity, how you can essentially criticize someone or something they're doing rather, without making it seem like you're just looking for and picking out every flaw you might see, you're always very respectful of everyone you react to whether good or bad, when I first discovered your channel I binged watched all your videos and one in particular was reaction to the worst auditions I believe it was and some of those people most would say were pretty off in their singing to say the least but I loved that on each and every one of them, you explained what they were doing technically that was making them sound so bad, why they were probably doing it that way, and what you would have them do to fix it if you were working with them. I loved that. And I loved how you seemed to feel exactly as I do when the judges are overly harsh and basically just flat out mean for no reason other than tv ratings pretty much. One guy in particular that they told in no uncertain terms to never sing again and you were like, no keep singing! I love that you genuinely feel that anyone could be a good singer if they really want to and how encouraging to people you always are! It gives those of us who love to sing but might not sound as great as other people, a little hope that we can do it if we just keep working at it! Sorry for the long novel, I said all that to say basically, just thanks for always being such an interesting and informative person to watch and for always being so kind and encouraging to everyone, you've brightened many a person's day, including mine, so keep it up!! As long as you're willing to post videos, we will be here to watch them!! Much love! ❤️

I'm a muslim, and everytime I hear someone reciting the Quran or hear the call of prayer from the nearest mosque, they always have this amazing runs and trills. Now as someone who likes music and singing, I always thought why people never try learn them when singing. The closest one I've heard was from when Moses's mother sang her lullaby from the Prince of Egypt, and I thought that was amazing. So imagine my delight when I listened to her song RIP Love and heard those familiar trills and runs. I've been obssessed with her since then

Her vibrato is arabic idk if that makes sense , but we arabs sing songs that way so her voice is a mix from arabic moroccan singing style and the normal pop voice

The vibrato is characteristic of middle eastern, specifically Arabic, music. The vibrato is cultural and highly intentional.

That voice, pretty close from perfection to my ears. It's smooth , beautiful lows, clean and powerful highs, can give me goosebumps :) . Interesting to have your feedback on it.

The vibrato that she has is partially due to her Moroccan heritage, if you listen to her song you don't even know me, you will hear it more in her runs and it adds more of an eastern sound.
