I was at the game and everytime Gil came off the mound after an inning he would have a big smile on his face walking into the dugout and when he looked up at all us Yankee fans cheering him on. The guy is Loving it! He’s a true ACE!!

Derek, I didn't mention it before but Gil was my fave prospect before he got hurt. I traded for him last year in a dynasty league. It's like he stepped into the phone booth and came out a superhero. The supreme confidence with his entire arsenal anywhere in & around the zone. He made Correa look silly a couple times on Tues. It's been absolutely impressive! I guess we have to get Cole on the phone to discuss the 6man rotation. Hope people don't forget how dominate Clarke was in May before he went down. Any doubts w the rotation have been put to rest!

Why are people complaining about Stanton swinging at the first pitch? The pitch was middle middle. Odds are, it was the best pitch he was going to see.

The Plan for Gil should be to leave him out as a starter until you can see that he's starting to cool off. Put him on the IL, give him a few weeks to rest the arm, bring him back as a reliever until the playoffs.

Batting Average does matter ! It is not just be all. OBP/SLG does matter as well. BA has been the metrics for hitter for ages and there is a reason for that.

Gil can't come out of rotation his era 1.99 K"s per 9 inning 11.2 tied with D.cease who has 11.2 per 9 but a Era of 3.12 right behind T Glasnow who is 11.6 K per 9 inning with a Era of 3.24

Just a detour into fever dream for a second: If Gil continues at this pace, the ROY and Cy Young are obviously in play, but with what he's done with Cole down, maybe somebody should be ringing that bell for an MVP case. Yes I know that's delusional. But anyone watching this guy knows why I'm saying it. Gotta speak it into existence. lol

I can understand where they were coming from about batting average doesn't matter. For example, a guy hitting 290 with 2 home runs in a full season may be less of a threat than a guy hitting 240 with 45 home runs. BUT those people took it to an extreme. They were acting like batting 190 is OK if you have some pop and can field decently. But it's not. I'd say, even if you have power and decent defense, the worst you can probably bat is 230.

Everyone is saying when Cole comes back then we’re ok and then take your best pitcher out of the rotation. What if Cole struggles coming back? He’s probably going to be rusty

Once they mess with Gil it will ruin him. Let him go. If he starts to struggle then think about it. He could have one of the greatest seasons in yankee history.
