I love the fact that it’s more intimate because they slowed it down. I like the stripped down jazzy, bluesy, sultry, sexy sound of it. And they all look the part! I really appreciate that even though DeeJay‘s voice could easily be mistaken for Michael Jackson’s, they did not slavishly copy the song. They rearranged it to feature his voice but make it their own. I love Geoff’s bassline, Eli’s gorgeous clear tones and the fact that we got to hear Layne sing with Cesar (One of my favorite parts. ) DeeJay gets a couple of chances to riff for a while. It reminds me of the Motown sounds that I grew up with. This is definitely going to be one of my favorites.
