Both of the main singers are new to you. Opening is Cesar de la Rosa, newest member, who requested that Geoff arrange it. EJ Cardona was the guy seated on the sofa. He has appeared one other time with them, covering Go the Distance from the Disney movie Hercules. His younger brother Omar is best friends and roomie with Cesar and is frequently featured, especially in their minis. EJ is also a member of the a cappella group Voctave and he, his wife Lindsay and Cesar make the core of several different pop groups that perform regularly at Epcot. My favorite of the performances with Omar is still the first one I saw which was carry on wayward son. I think it’s just because I like this song so well because he does a great job and everything he’s done with them.

This is their quiet, elusive masterpiece. Just one of the most heartbreaking songs they've done. Earl and J None were both in Boy Bands in 5 Minutes and Earl was one of the original members from middle and high school. About 2 yrs ago he left the group for personal reasons. J None had been a member since 2017 or 18. He was recruited by the US Navy for his vocal talents and currently serving for 5 yr total (2 done, 3 to go), He said he'd be back and when he has leave, he'll fly in from Washington state to Orlando and do a major video and a couple of shorts. In the meantime, VoicePlay is short one singer usually but being in the midst of the theme parks, Disney, Universal, etc and having worked at the parks in the past, they have a wealth of great talent to draw from. They've really taken advantage of great singers to change up the videos and songs they want to do. It's working but not good for touring, but since the guys have families and kids, they aren't as anxious to hit the road. But in the last 2 years, their work is at the top of the charts, just spectacular.

VoicePlay are masters of harmony. And everything else that they do. Frequently bringing tingles, goosebumps. chills, all the feels. Whether arranged by Layne, Geoff, or Eli, they excel at emotion. Up until 2020 the regular lineup was Layne, Geoff, Earl, Eli and J.None. In 2020 Earl left for personal reasons, undisclosed. They continued to have five by bringing in guest artists, (which they had done before anyway). In 2021 J.None left to sing with the US Navy's music section, by invitation. Since then they still bring in guests to make a lineup of 5, and sometimes that guest is J.None, when he's on leave from his duties. They took on Cesar de la Rosa after J left, who I understand has just signed up for another 18 months and they are currently seeking a more permanent fifth member.. Availability is always an issue with guest artists.

Geoff, the bass, arranged this one at Cesar's request (the opening solo line singer). The story is apparently that Geoff was in tears during editing. It gets me every damn time. E.J. has done several videos with VoicePlay. He's a main member of Voctave. His brother Omar has also performed several times with VoicePlay.

p.s. Geoff, the bass, has a FIVE-octave range. His high voice is just amazing. To hear it on full display, watch their performance of Oogie Boogie Song.

Yes the first song you reacted to was a slightly older one. Two members have moved on, and they have only replaced one. The members who left are Earl their High Tenor; for personal reasons and J None their Baritone; he left to serve with the Navy but returns whenever he has leave and joins in. 😊 Hoping after his tour ends he'll rejoin as a permanent member The guy you stopped at is EJ Cardona he and his brother (Omar) are both featured along with a whole group of other very talented people. Until they find a fifth members they just use features. Their newest member Cesar (the guy who starts the song) knows how to pull our heartstrings with his angelic voice. He's a great addition to the group. So far this is the only song where you don't see the group singing together. Hope this helps a little. Looking forward to more reactions 😊😅😂🤣

Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole! It's very deep. Be prepared to be stunned with their new release from a few days ago...Voiceplay version of CREEP by Radiohead. It's amazing, so start there. Then go back to some of my favorites Nothing Else Matters, Hoist the Colours, If I were a Rich Man / Girl, Warriors, Dream On, 21 Pilots Mashup, Hide and Seek (Ding Dong), Dragonborn Comes, Hall of the Mountain King, Golden Hour, In the Air Tonight.....too many to mention. They're all great!

While my favorite version of the song is still Bonnie Raitt's (maybe because it was the first I ever heard), this version is sitting just below hers on my scales. If you noticed, they didn't use any beatboxing in this song, just vocals and finger snaps to keep the rhythm going, so Layne (the beatboxer) got to sing the entire song - something he doesn't do a lot these days.
