A three days filming at Zaira vangunu island in Western Province. This story is of those who fight against logging to protect their forest by way of conserving their last forest.
The last time logging encroached was just few meters behind the Zaira village. From the stories I heard around the fire during my filming in Zaira ,men stood up with stones to protect bulldozers from further moving close to the village. About 100 ngali nuts were cut down, Ngali nut is one of the income source to people of Zaira.
The last time I heard the logging company moved out. The people of Zaira has been struggling to get PA yet feel on deaf hears from the responsible authorities.
Im willing to film a bigger version and the really what's the core cause of the issue that is from the for the conservation group and for the logging group when I have the opportunity.
