At long last, the Octo Expansion chat logs have been dubbed! Relive your favorite moments with voice acting for Pearl, Marina and Cap'n Cuttlefish! This is a project re-translated by Splatoon lore enthusiasts, ardnin and rassicas to be more accurate to the original Japanese version, while still keeping the fresh attitude of the American localization. I'm still so happy you decided to make a dub of our re-translated chat room dialogue! Both you and Kodiak did an amazing job with the voices, seeing all of the funny and emotional moments in the chat room dubbed was just so good It was also funny to see how many people were confused by the bonus chat log, makes me wonder how many never got to read it when they played the game

It’s interesting that Pearl didn’t know Marina was an octoling. That seems extremely important to the story, kinda strange they didn’t translate it directly. Great dub as always!

It makes sense, during the events of Octo expansion, It’s been a hundred years since both species interacted. To the point there the new generation doesn’t even know what an Octoling looks like. And I think The lore implies that inkling aren’t the most brightest folk out there. So it might be the reason why pearl didn’t know. (I’m not sure, I have to research more T.T)

Well when you think about it most Inklings aside from the Agents wouldn’t know what an Octoling would look like. I mean Cuttlefish had to explain what they were to us in the first Splatoon.

@@lunalgaleo1991 From what I recall from the first game, Octolings are meant as elite troops, used for covert ops. My guess is Inkling schools only really showed the basic Octarians and Octavio himself, rather than the advanced troops. I know in my history classes we were never taught the weaponry at the time that either side of a war had, just the important figures on both sides.

The Octo Expansion chat room's mainly tells a story about Marina's past and I love it! Making her unwelcome in a different place just like in our world, has a friend to got her back in danger, and accept her as a person/octoling in a different place that she belongs. I love of what the developers did to her story and can't wait to see her with Pearlie an upcoming DLC! As Agent 8 said at the end, "will that was fun" listening to this story. Captain cuttlefish just dodged a bullet there. If he would have answered the opposite when they were talking about Marina, he would have received a pointblank big whoomie scream from a certain white inkling midget. Not to mention 8 might also just decide to go AWOL which will lead to the end of the world by a certain Tartar
