The fact that Vel'Koz genuinely seems scared must mean this champion is gonna be a big part in the lore (Also the League logo getting corrupted by the void looks sick).
From what she said when talking to Vel'koz, she doesn't seem afraid of the Watchers, which as far as we knew were the apex lifeform of the Void, so she clearly is a major influence in the Void besides the Watchers
@@letwen He has some intelligence, so if he sees Bel'veth as a stronger foe, he is intelligent enough to know not to fight her, which is a form of fear
Interesting how I thought she was almost aggressive towards Velkoz, but on a third watch back she seems almost like she's nicely warning him to stay in his own lane or get run the fuck down. Really interested to see how this champ is gonna shape up.
I took it more like soothing manipulation to change to her side and he's scared because she's approaching watchers level of power with way more direct mental influence and she showed him what she can do to weaker voidlings
Have you heard her lines to him? She tells him that his watchers cannot unmake her and must die. I'm thinking your first impression was more correct. She directly threatens him.
The watchers are the gods of the void, they basically made it. The new champion is rebelling against her creators since she doesn't want to be controlled and to create her own domain, aside from the current void since we know that the watchers are trapped. Well some of them.
So happy to see the lore ark of Malzahar and VelKoz being developed further. It always felt odd to me how we basically have multiple fractions / fighters from the void that rarely shared any connection (exception being Kassadin and KaiSa.)
I like to think vel is like a sneaky rogue void creature, his only directive is to study the world so that the void may properly erase it but since he just wants to study stuff he goes atom by atom so that the wait is basically infinite. but it's probably gonna be something average like a hivemind or sum shit
Literally two of my favorite champs are Malz and Vel. I'm so hyped to see how they could play into this event they seem to be planning. I assume Bel'veth will come out in a couple patches and then the whole lore event will occur later, similar to how Viego did with the Ruination.
for those who were wondering why she had a human face, she has two heads. one per form at least. the grey woman face was her first form, a head attached to a monstrous body as seen in her recall. the second face was the gold one, which is her true form edit: guys i am right. the human head really is just the bait. she is terrifying, yet beautiful. just saw it from the cinematic of belveth on a different language. SHE'S A MONSTER CHAMP btw. thank yall for thy likes
@@BowserisOK the head was only human. the rest? is a manta ray. a human head was like her adaptation to imitate beauty as humans perceived, or so runeterrans see. slowing becoming monstrous is a way of realizing to her that beauty doesn't need being sexy as such but beauty as a whole.
@@BowserisOK human *head but not of a model. Model is the entire character but not especially true if the only human is the fake head. If you had just paid attention to any of her leaks, the only human in her model is her faux head of a woman. As one design commenter said: "A regal monstrosity that attempts to appeal herself to humans with a faux woman's head."
@@user-cj3tq5mw9r And? Are you seriously gonna argue that alone makers her a monster champ? Lmao you probably consider Lillia and Neeko to be monster champs.
I hope with her lore, we finally get a glimpse of whatever the heck Cho'Gath means to the void. My man still has no proper lore to this date along with Shaco.
I mean what do you need? Most void creatures we have are meaningless void minions, they merged from Void to Runeterra, with no purpose but to consume everything. Except maybe Volkoz who is studying Runeterra. There is nothing special about him as of rn.
Vel'Koz is one of the most powerful creatures present on Runeterra right now. The fact that Vel'Koz looks absolutely TERRIFIED, just by her speaking directly into his mind, says a lot about how powerful she really is. My main looks like he would be shitting his pants if he wore any.
Vel'Koz is actually pretty weak in terms of lore. Malzahar is probably stronger than him even given that he literally opens portals to the Void at will - and even that is weak when compared to other champs.
@@Milecarful Sure, Malz can open portals. For OTHER beings to come through. Malz isn't the big threat, it's what he opens the door for. Also, remember, Vel'Koz is a watcher. For the longest time, the Watchers were THE biggest threat we had in the lore. As in like, "when the watchers return, we're ALL fucked" level threat. That's why I said ONE of the most powerful creatures. Sure there's champions (like the celestial beings just as an example) that might be canonically stronger than him, but he would easily be in the top 10-20 IMO. But top 20 out of an entire planet is still insanely powerful. You also have to consider intelligence when talking about how powerful someone is. Vel'Koz is one of the most intelligent beings in League's lore, and if you put him up against someone who might be stronger but not as strategic, he could potentially beat them easily.
Ooh her swarm looks pretty cool, kinda reminds me of the zerglings from Starcraft. Also that means that all the void champions are either with or against her.
That’s rare to hear anybody say the void being their favorite faction out of League, that’s dope. Mine are the Celestials. (Aurelion Sol, Zoe, Bard etc.)
If she is even more powerful then that watchers themselfs then I feel like yes, plus she could be a reason to give asol more characters development instead of just arrogant space dragon
I dont think so. This is something much newer. Aurelion Sol hasn't looked at the void recently. He looked a long time ago. I think this creature may have regained consciousness by constantly eating humans. Or he may have the mind of an ancient deity warrior.
After 8 long years, velkoz is finally in another cinematic! Lets go void lore! Fun fact: its been 8 years since the last void monster champ came out which was reksai! Thank you riot!
They have been hinted something about something happening to them. First Kassadin’s splash art and then Kai’sa’s new splash art. I’m hoping new voice lines.
@@Zxykary Her shape was leaked a couple of weeks ago. She looks like a stingray, though with a human face. Although in her ultimate she goed full monster, she is basically that shark that appears feasting on voidlings during the Vel'Koz part.
Adding this as a comment to everyone and their mother that’s being like “oh if she looks like a sexy human I’ll rage” she doesn’t. She has a vaguely human head pre level 6 but after that she’s all monster. Her appearance was leaked like a month ago
@@BowserisOK think about it. flying manta ray like monster with a human face trying to lure you to the void. if this isnt monstrously enough idk what is
@@BowserisOK "Monster champ without human qualities" so you want a champ without face, arms, legs, any kind of voice, hability to speak or think. Not even Cho'Gath, Vel'koz and Kog'Maw meet your demand, all of them resemble humans. Do you want a slime blob by any chance?
@@gabrieldossantos1116 Honestly, Vel and Kog really doesnt look anything humane. But with that, im all for a human head attached to a monster. Ever heard of face-stealer from Avatar Last Airbende and Korra???
Looks like the key players are most likely Malzahar, Kaisa, shuriman champs (like azir, nasus, etc), velkoz and probably lissandra?? cause of the connection on the watchers Still can't wait for lore development coming from the void also I wonder what the aspects gonna about it and space doggy
Lissandra only dealt with the ancient Watchers. Bel'Veth is talking about Vel'Koz's watchers, which are not the same behemoths as the ancient ones, it seems.
I think she feels a lot more monstruos and creepy like this. A huge, flying, purple Mantaray with weird tendrils hanging from her with just a single human head attached to it. It looks sick honestly. Besides she loses the head when she fully evolves
"I am the Void, your Watchers are incapable of understanding".... HANG ON A MOMENT, does this mean that the void is not actually the empty space before reality where the watchers started, but something even beyond that??? Someone summon Necrit please!
@@e.b9996 “eye of the void, your watchers are incapable of understanding. I am the void and I will remake all of runeterra” she literally does state this
YEARS. The void always has been a mysterious place that kept sending abominations with one goal: Destruction of Runeterra. If this queen turns out to be a human, I'll lost it.
An inner conflict of interests within the void? Sounds like a good direction to go in but I’ll take anything at this point just for some void champion lore updates
Remember when Swain, after taking the soul fragment of a void creature, said "A pattern, spreading. It has learned to be alive"? This is probably what he meant. The void is no longer a force that seeks to end reality. It has gained its own form of consciousness and is no longer one and unified. The void has split up into patterns and each split has its own agenda, hence why Bel'Veth opposes the Watchers.
This reminds me… The Darkin were once ascended of shurima who lead the fight against the void before they became darkin in the chaos of their empires collapse and the face of the traumas that cropped up in their wars, if I’m correct? Now that Azir has returned, and The Void is about to make the recent ruination look like a mentally ill pretty boys temper tantrum, maybe Azir can talk some fleeting sense into his once and former kin to rally against the coming nightfall?
