@@ReJayJJ I wouldn't say he takes too much damage from his own attacks. Normally less than 1% per attack. Him being killed so early is definitely a downside. Really one of the only ones I can find. Her jab is a bit useless for almost anything but jablocking, and her up-b doesn't have a hitbox, but otherwise everything else is above average.
ReJay YT Yeah, but keep in mind, a lot of Pichus attacks hurt more than Pikachu's, can actually kill at lower percents (for some reason), and Thunder can be casted faster than with Pikachu (for some reason).
Honestly normal Raichu is literally underrated even when they made an alola form of Raichu and tried to make him cuter but honestly eh. Who here prefer normal Raichu compare to Alola? Lol
I love Pichu's playstyle much more because Pichu forces you to be more aggressive and quickly win neutral, which is good because of Pichu's speed, small frame, combos, and the game engine and mechanics. Not to mention the cuteness factor.
Lol even playing the game it really difficult to keep track of what going on. Heck try 8 player match and see if you can keep track of your character in that huge crowd
PurpleMountain it doesn’t work. Some better things to do as pichu (I don’t know percents for these things exactly) are down tilt buffered then somewhat charged up smash thunder, or auto cancelled dair fast fall up air b reverse thunder. These two are confirms, and up throw thunder is not. Yes it works at 100+, but these two work very early, do over fourty percent, and if they don’t kill, I doesn’t matter because of pichu’s insane offstage game. Sorry, the down tilt on has been deconfirmed as a confirm
I love how Void is so damn nice and grateful. He doesn’t praise his own plays, but shows his opponent that he respects him and is honored to play with him.
As a Pichu main myself, I can't tell you enough about how much this video helped me during games! I've taken notes about combos, general techniques and just overall information! Thanks again!
Forward throw to dash attack is a true combo at zero and nair after dash attack is a 50 50. Up throw and jump to thunder sour spot and jump again to thunder sweet spot due to them being at thunders meteor hit. Your welcome cause I have practiced this a lot. Also down throw to dair works at ledge around 30 to 50 percent
I’m noticing small things about Pichu that are better than Pikachu. -His down tilt being an insane combo starter at all percents (small range tho) -His ftilt killing! Damn! (Small range too) -his moves doing a little more damage overall (thunder jolt, fsmash etc.) -his fsmash being a lot stronger and the multi hit helps it catch people easier (smaller range tho) -despite Pikachus neutral air being great in its own right, so is Pichus. Don’t know which is better but I like pichus mkre because back air and forward air are already multi-hits -more air speed than Pikachu that helps him be even more slippery -thunder going through platforms! Once again gives Pichu a buff to his kill options over Pikachu. -Pichu up b actually goes farther (pikachus goes plenty far tho). They both are so good at combos and getting damage. Pikachu has better range than Pichu, no self damage, and is heavier. Pichu has better kill potential and some of the utility listed above. I low key think that the kill power of Pichu makes him better than Pikachu in some match ups. They are very comparable to me actually.
Interesting fun fact; many young venomous snakes can’t control how much venom they release when biting their prey. As they age and mature they use an appropriate amount of venom compared to their victim’s size to avoid needing to constantly produce a huge amount of venom.
ESAM looked helpless throughout this match. He seemed to be flailing random attacks. Then again, VoiD is a movement based player in a game of movement.
Another factor is Pichu is faster. And as one of the few characters faster than Pikachu it was probably an adjustment for ESAM to handle. Meanwhile VOid had to deal with the self damage and earlier death possibilities. Just amazing to see two highly aggressive players going at it though. That was awesome!
Helpless might be a little overstating a bit tho. He was clearly under pressure, but honestly held it together pretty ok in the end -- thus the 3-2 result. However, the one thing he truly displays is some smash4-itis -- I lost count of how many grabs ESAM missed because he tried to cross up VoiD.
Rafael Brandão Pikachu can still cross-up-pivot-grab though. A lot of the time that’s what he was trying to do. Just mechanical errors, not necessarily bad habits.
Completely unrelated. I'm not a Smash a player. But if they ever release Dragonite as a heavy, I'm uninstalling whatever game I'm playing, buying a Switch, buying Smash, and maining him. Dragonite would work so perfect as a heavy!!! 😮
@Mysticgamer 87 Go to Esams channel. Look at his video called Tier list (pre released). The recent tier list he did that was like an hour and 35 mins long. At like an 1 hour and 33 mins. He said pikachu is the best in the game in his opinion. Soooo......yah.
@Mysticgamer 87 Tell me when you see the end at like 1 hour and 15 seconds. I'll wait for u bro, so we can debate on what he said. It wasn't a demo btw. Just cuz it is pre released doesn't make it a demo. Smash not gonna patch nothing until like months into the game.
K1d _ I know this is a joke, but Pikachu is still objectively slightly better than Pichu but not by much. But admittedely Pichus faster speed *does* give him an advantage.
Literally every pro, streamer, and casual player said the same bullshit. Jumped the gun and heavily overrated a character I would argue they acrually made worse than smash 4's iteration, and this may be a stretch but potentially the worst version of pikachu in the entire smash series.
+gsmVoiD first off, you are one of my favorite smash players of all time! Just wanted to tell you...in case you didn't know😏. I know you might not see this comment, but do you have any areas of focus for a new Pichu player?
I knew it was the real Void after being destroyed by his pichu in elite smash with my Marth. Especially at the end when he put “Well played” because he is a really nice/humble person.
Since you are a high level player, and I am really into competitive Ultimate, could you please answer these 2 questions as soon as possible?! 1. What were drinking? 2. Was it good?
Ploxxon, So Pichu can do more damage overtime due to Pichu’s precent gradually getting higher with each attack? Is that the only difference? or does Pichu have some advantage like less delay on moves, or faster movement? If not, would they just be echos then? Echos do have differences even though they are small.
Londi Puff, hmm interesting, I’ll have to try the little guy out. I only played Pikachu because the last time Pichu was available, it wasnt the best if I can recall that far back.
It's quite shocking to see what this game is capable of comparing it to Brawl and Smash4, as far as viewer interest goes. The atmosphere was electrified with this fast paces gameplay.
Yeah, he got overshadowed by pikachu (who has to have been the most overrated character of any smash game) but everyone still acknowledged that pichu is a high to top tier monster.
I play both Pikachu and Pichu and whilst I've solely played Pikachu in the past, I don't mind getting damage for increased attack as Pichu although I do like the combo potential of pikachu with down throw air neutral.
Yo Nerf Pichu... I could win with this character without even knowing how to use it. Pichu Nair is too good. Characters that couldn't match with Pichu's speed and if the enemy has slow recovery and have landing lag, expect to be Nair, Fair, Bair off the stage. You can use 2 Down B and still recover off stage.
I'd love to play against you just so I could learn. I'm a pikachu/pichu user and I feel like I'm up and coming. Havent really gone up against any "Heavyweights" yet.
These characters seem very even. Pichu seems better but a long neutral can hurt pichu's survival. They both seem to equally have a lot of kill options. Pikachu may be the go to character for most people who want easy wins for now.
