Some lenses may not be perfect, but that’s sometimes what makes them even more perfect.
Sorry, it’s a Viltrox 40mm f/2.5 I was filming on. I use Voigtlander so much it’s just what comes out of my mouth automatically.
I’m not an affiliate but will highly recommend getting your Voigtlander lenses from Camera Quest

I have the same lens, the version III. it's fantastic and much smaller than the previous versions. The perfect lens. I also have the 21mm f1.4 Nokton which is a beast on my M10R, but is amazing as well.

Very elegant. The photographer, camera, lens, light, and of course the subject came together for this one.

@@kaskoPhoto he has been that way since the very first time I started purchasing my Leica M Mount lenses for my original Sony alpha 7S and alpha 7R. He's had the market cornered on voightlander for the United States for a decade which is fine with me because he certainly gives that company a good name. Again, I appreciate you and your channel very, very much.

wonderful shots, gorgeous model. absolutely love the results. Currently looking for the 50mm f/1.2 sibling of this lens, but it's sold out where I live, be it new or used. But that 35mm of yours absolutely delivers, beautiful !!

I will def be trying the 50 f/1.2 as well. But surprising loving the 35 focal length with this lens.

a lens I always wanted to try, this year probably, I'll sel the ultron 28, because the focal, and vignetting. Having the 40 and the 35, you have to compare your impressions.

Interesting to see v3 in use, had the v1 with my Epson RD1s and it was great, also fine with M6 and Delta 3200 for instance. Tried V2 when i got back to Leica again, but i did not get it working with the M9 Monochrome, took some time to learn the “film in it” but all came together with a 35mm pre asph summilux. Now something more modern would be nice now and then with the M10 monochrom, so perhaps? Thank you for the videeo

Hey, thanks for you insights. You are right, one have to try a lens. But what do you think about adapting this 35 1.2 to the Zf? Currently eyeing with adapting it to my Zf and maybe you have tried it yourself already :) would love to hear your insights.

I think I would have to go with the Nikon F/3 HP hands down. I used a 35 f/2.8, 50 (can’t remember which one) and the 105 f/2.5

Your thoughts on the 35 vs the 40? You loved that lens, too, correct? I ask because I have the 40 and am considering adding a 28. Is 28, 40, 75 a trinity? Sorry, lots of questions in there. ☺️

I absolutely love the 35. I purchased it after the second shoot with it. It’s a bit nicer rendering to my taste
@Ozhtube

Would you happen to know how is colors rendering of this lens vs the Sony GM lenses? Doesn’t look like they have the Sony version, but there is adapter. If you shoot raw, will it make a difference in color? I’m considering to get one with an adapter for my Sony a7c but the price close to the sony 35 gm
@kaskoPhoto
@kaskoPhoto 6 дней назад
The Voigtlander VM lenses adapted are not great on the Sony bodies. I would get a native Sony mount or just skip it.

This is a nice lens, I’d take it over a lot of other 35s. Not a lot of advocates for this lens online outside of Mr Leica, Philip Reeve, and the random video or Fred Miranda post. lol. For v3, I feel like they got the ergonomics right on this, the barrel is very similar to the 15 last version. The weight is nice for 1.2, as you say. Personally I prefer the nokton 1.4 for a fast character 35 (I will not pay 3k for a steel rim reissue or an old lux) and the Zeiss distagon for high IQ fast 35 (lux asph works too!). So yea choose your own adventure! You usually can’t go wrong with CV but you might like something else even more.
@kaskoPhoto

I know what you mean about the Steel Rim but damn I want to try that lens!

That lens does look good, especially with that window light you had. Been using a Voigtlander Ultron 35/1.7 for several years now, which is also nice (bit 'cleaner' perhaps). I may prefer that 1.2, but not by enough to replace the Ultron ;-)
@kaskoPhoto

I know that Ultron is a really nice lens! I prefer the newer focusing ring but that’s just nitpicking

the Lux FLE is a great lens and all, but it's getting a bit old. the close focus version didn't get any optical updates. one wonders if Leica is spreading R&D a bit thin with the SL lenses as most of the lux layouts are now like 20 years old. the 35 apo cron is just clearly their best effort at 35mm but it's priced really high for that compact size (even the 50 apo cron which is now a decade old, is like 9000 dollars still somehow). I've been on the fence about an FLE since it's small for what it is, using a 35mm c-biogon atm which is slow but crazy, crazy sharp. I have heard Light Lens Lab is going to make a version of the old double aspherical 35mm summilux, that could be a winner if it comes in at the 2Kish price of their 1.2 Noctilux clone. For a more characterful alternative to the VM 35 APO anyway.

Thank you so much for your input and potential, exciting information. Much appreciated. I really really do want to try a light lens lab lens one day.

I’m curious to know why you think the Leica Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 FLE II is “old”? I have the FLE I and think it has a nice balance of character and sharpness on my M11, M11 Monochrom, and SL2. I might leave it on my M6 TTL film camera, as I subsequently bought a new APO-Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 for its improved optical performance and close-focusing capability (it provides a different look than the Summilux FLE).

@@johnkasianowicz6536 I hate to be the one to tell you this, but 2010 was 14 years ago 😔

@@TCMx3 FWIW, I have pre-2010 vintage wine in my cellar that has improved with time. The date a lens design is implemented doesn’t necessarily mean it will need an upgrade any time soon (or perhaps ever). I’ve bought several Voigtländer 35 mm VM lenses but sold them because my Summilux-M 35 FLE I is optically superior and more pleasing. The only reason I’d sell my FLE I is to get an FLE II. However, I’m thinking of keeping it and mainly using it on the M6 TTL. The Lux 35 FLE has excellent optical performance, nice character, and an excellent mechanical design. I’m not sure what I’d change on it.
@johnkasianowicz6536
@johnkasianowicz6536 Месяц назад
@@TCMx3 Also, I have several apochromatic refractor telescopes whose designs are from the 1980s, 1990s, and the 2000s. They’re all superb instruments. The older ones are perfect for visual work and imaging with film or astronomical digital cameras with pixels ~ 9 microns. The later deigns can be used for imaging with smaller pixels. I don’t think I’d need a camera with pixels smaller than 3.7 microns, so I don’t see a need to buy another telescope.
