Absolutely great buses, lucky you get to drive these! Unfortunately they're soon to be exitinct within london so may have to pop down to plymouth to experience some in future
Great video.☺️ I miss seeing this bus on the route 486. I miss this bus being at Bexleyheath Bus Garage. I love these buses, they are one of my most favourite buses ever.☺️
@@kaibrown1390 No it isn't on the 191, doesn't serve that route anymore only E40-E42 are the only ones at Northumberland Park (NP) garage that goes on the 191.
want some euro 4 voiths when these go, try all 10 over at Epsom coaches. 57 plates with still a few years of service. (formally DD01-10) now called ADE
I feel so lucky living near Redhill to have the 405 being my only local TFL route - with such good buses and great oppurtunities for kickdown especially north of Harps oak lane. However arriva are taking over on the 29th august with MMC’s so these will go...
Since your local to the 405, I’m sure you must use the route as well. Just asking, do drivers usually tend to drive their buses like this, as I really wanna catch one before the 29th August when these leave but I wanna get a good run, else there’s just no point.
@@BusesinLondon345 Depends if they're late. There are some drivers that refuse to drive their bus fast with kickdown even when late and I remember their faces off by heart to avoid them (im local to this route too) and there are others that will floor it no matter what. You've just got to be lucky with what driver you get. Ideally get it around 7pm cause thats when their last runs before returning dead begin and tend to be delayed cause of traffic in croydon.
I still remember when I used to not bother with filming journeys, and I took a 405 from Coulsdon South to Redhill ages ago. It turned up On Time, however just after Coulsdon South, there was awful traffic all the way to Hooley. After clearing the traffic we were 7 minutes late, and by the time we reached Redhill Bus Station we were 3 minutes early. The Driver absolutely floored it, and an elderly lady almost fell out of her seat as the driver didnt see a passenger at Dean Lane, whilst going at full speed. Thats an example of what some of the drivers do, however due to TFL’s stupid timetable, others go at a painfully slow pace even if the next bus is only 2 minutes behind us (which i have experienced myself)
@@SouthernTransportFan Nah thats an example of a driver that just crawls for the sake of it for overtime pay, there are a few of those on the 405 sadly. Once had one who was determined to drive at 30mph along that stretch even though they were close to 15 minutes late and were the last bus from redhill
vLondon Transport Haha. Ill be catching the 405 with Go Ahead at least three last times in the next 11 days, with a bit of filming for throwbacks. Ill definitely make sure to catch either E38 or E39, as they are the best ones on the route in my opinion, and really enjoy the ride. On the 29th, ill definitely take the 405 with Arriva, and film the MMC’s on their first day - However i doubt they will be anywhere near as fun as the old Tridents that dont have long left.
