Great video! I learned to fly on the 400m Volantex P-51 , Volantex have released another P-51 with 20 inch span and 2s power you can bind it with EdgeTx and use a hobby grade transmitter , I'm using the Radiomaster Boxer it does a good scale race flight path impersonation and lots of fun . Thanks for all the great videos I build a bit with balsa and tissue and am determined to do a RC coversion on a Guillows plane as per your instruction , much appreciated.
Regarding glueing prop on, the spinner and the base of that spinner hold the prop, so if you glue the base to the adapter, you can still replace props by unscrewing the spinner from the front. :)
A rather generalized statement. Any details of what exactly you bought, where you bought it from, what experience you have in flying models, what the wind conditions etc were at the time, how long ago that happened? 🤔 Otherwise your assessment of this plane (or any planes) is a bit like saying "Don't buy a Ford! My son crashed his the first time he took it out!" - without telling us that he was still wearing nappies at the time. 😉😊
These little planes are great but much better on something like a tx16s. The gimbals on the included transmitter are pretty dead in the centres making it almost impossible to control the model with the gyro off.
You are about the first to get this new model Tim. A pity that you didn't check it over more thoroughly. The New 500mm 2s brushless P-51 runs on the same Volantex V761 4ch protocol and has extra features like a transmitter activated "Find My Plane" buzzer. Some have said that this feature might be being added to the newer editions of the rest of the Mini Warbirds series. Could you check this plane for that? Also the props are held onto the plastic pop-off fitting by a screw under the spinner. So when (usually not if) you decide to glue the props on after the pop-off system gets a bit worn you can simply remove the screw and replace the prop. (Use the 2-bladers for flying and the 3-bladers for display - the bi-bladers break less easily!) Plugging the batteries in and getting the door closed is always a pain with these little toys. Simply trim out the holes in the battery door to allow the connectors to be fed through and connected on the outside. Saves a lot of wear and tear on the wires. A note on the correct sequence for powering up. By plugging in the plane first you cause it to give up looking for the transmitter with the unique ID that it is bound to and go looking for ANY V761 protocol transmitter in the vicinity. That can lead to your mate's transmitter controlling BOTH your planes. So once bound, always turn on your transmitter first, then plane. So, if you have several of these V761 planes, you can bind them all to 1 transmitter and only take that to the field. For rough bash and crash flying in small areas with no regulations restrictions these little toys are without equal.
I got the volontex bf109 kit, it flys great, but a gust of wind sent it in a tree and it dropped onto the ground. No damage. Lost the prop. I ordered a multiple pack of props for my next flight. Your fw190 looks great.

I am just thrilled to see the quality improvement in these dirt cheap Chinese toy plants. I am also thrilled that German planes are finally getting some love. I hope to see a foam Dornier Do 335 someday, or even better would be a Horten Ho 229. I bet that gyros would be great on a flying wing
9:06 "very nice landing", just some of the pilot's teeth are now embedded in the instrument panel. ;-) Seems to fly nice though, wonder how well this plane will fly in full manual mode. The P51 is pretty manageable at least in low winds, but some of these small planes become really twitchy if the gyro is off
I agree with your points on the gyros. The gyro stabilization really seems to work. Oftentimes these smaller models, especially four channel warbirds, can be almost impossible to fly. But this one flies quite well with the gyros and looks very nice.
