I feel like Volbeat has perfected this new album. These past four singles, including both versions of For Evigt, appeal to every Volbeat listener. This one appeals to the long-time blues listeners, The Devil's Bleeding Crown appeals to the heavier listeners and For Evigt and The Bliss appeal to those who enjoy the softer, more choral songs. This band is amazing

@@Caine61 Agreed, though they do have some bluesy songs. Others are more like old style rock songs metalled up, sometimes to the point where I think they plagiarize Metallica(Still Counting has a section that's pretty much ripped right out of Master of Puppets).

He was all into Elvis and Johnny when he was a kid, so that's what he is going for Its that 50's Johnny cash look too. , I agree that the more mellow songs like Gardens Tale sound like Greenday.. When I first turned people on 2 Volbeat I was like its sort of like a mix between Greenday, Johnny Cash and King Diamonds Band, Only every once in a while guests will belt it out like Phil from Pantera.....

This is by FAR the worst album from Volbeat. The songs sound generic, there are no heavy guitar riffs, it sounds VERY VERY mainstream. Huge disappointment.

Elvis and Metallica are their biggest influences. James Hetfield introduced Volbeat at the orion music festival and I can't even imagine how awesome that must have felt to them. The first time I heard Ecotone I was sure it was new Metallica, nope it was Volbeat lol.

If there was such a thing as perfect, this band would it. They come closer than most. They are an incredible mixture of old school Rock n Roll and new school. Michael's voice is one of the best I have ever heard. I let a friend listen to Volbeat and he told me Michael is good enough to be solo. He said he doesn't even need a band, he can fit in almost anywhere. Love it.

Love those guys! They are on the radio all the time where I live. Saw them in concert and they sound just as good! Real band and so fun to go see. They were so happy that we all showed up early to see them when they opened for the Metallica concert in Colorado. Hell ya!

My favorite song from the album by far. I was somewhat unmoved by the album until I got to this track and then I was like, "HELLO!!!". The track right after this one, Battleship Chains was a very interesting transition after this song but I really kind of liked it too.
