Volca Keys Makes AWESOME Bass Sounds!
Now that I've had some to get to know my Korg Volca Keys, I figured I'd make a video on a few of my favorite sounds that it can make. I've got two super fat bass sounds, as well as a nice light lead type sound that I've been using a lot lately. Enjoy!
GEAR IN THIS VIDEO:
Volca Keys: amzn.to/2ZVMgfK
Arturia Keystep (controller): amzn.to/2CW1AQF
Zoom H5 (audio recorder): amzn.to/2ONTw7n

The Volca Keys is such a versatile instrument (definitely NOT a toy). This video perfectly illustrates just some capabilities of this pocket dynamo from Korg.

All Volcas have some amazing features. My favourite thing about the Keys is that you can half the tempo of the synced devices.

Nice! Run the sync out of one into the sync in of the other, then run both of their headphone outputs into some sort of mixer, plug your main out into that and you're ready to go!

You cant. Theres no sampler or midi save in it. Only way to control it via midi is plugging an extrnal keyboard with a midi out into its midi in.

Wow! You really got the hang of it. The term you're looking for is Frequency modulation or FM. This could get very complicated but it's a form of synthesis where a super fast Lfo is changing the pitch of an oscilator so quickly, new harmonics are created.
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 4 года назад
Thank you!!! I always wondered exactly what FM was, and that explanation really helped. There's so much to learn lol, thanks for watching!

The delay isn't the same as the one in the Monotron. The Monotron delay uses a BBD chip (solid state analogue). The Keys actually has a lo-fi digital delay, but it does have dirty sort of character which might make you think it was analogue.

If Im not mistaken I think that technique you use to make it even fatter is a form of Frequency Modulation. I'm still pretty new at this so I might be mistaken
