I keep thinking there's a high possibility you can bend your leg the wrong way, breaking it by putting your feet out like that. Wouldn't it be safer to keep them on the board, or would you go so fast that you could hurt yourself 'if' you eat it XD
My wife and I did it, our shoes got pretty chewed up. One guy who wiped out had some "road rash" on his face from the volcano gravel but nobody hurt any limbs. The orange jump suits are very necessary :)
