Volcano erupts as campers cook breakfast at the foot of Mount Merapi 

Having climbed this volcano several times many years ago, it is a long way down from where they were, with loose rocks under foot. Although many might be wondering why they do not run straight away, a couple of extra minutes running is not going to make much difference given the speed ash and lava travels in an eruption.

I’d be running like a scared gazelle and I’m sure there would have been a brownout marking where I was originally standing.

These days you don’t have to hike a mountain to enjoy the view from up there. You just fly a drone. It’s much safer and easier.
