Volcano Hike in Costa Rica, Pt 1

Today I'm exploring a part of Costa Rica that I don't know well, despite the many years of living in this country. I will be showing you Part 1 of my hike between volcanos. This is THE ABSOLUTE BEST hike I have EVER been on! On this hike, I'm with with my friend Velvet and our guides from Caminantes_Tiquicia and we are heading to the Cartago Province of Costa Rica, to complete a difficult 20 km (12.5 mi) hike between 2 of the country's tallest volcanos.
On part 1, we begin our hike at the entrance of the Irazú Volcano (3,432m / 11,260 ft elevation) and begin a 10km descent down the slopes of the volcano, coming across several farms along the way, pastures, muddy trails and river crossings! This is by far the MOST SCENIC and CHALLENGING day hike I've ever been on. There are many unusual plant species to see along the way as well, such as the Gunnera insignis!
