Anybody else ever throw a Natural Disaster or volcano birthday party? There wasn't much on pinterest for this one but I really like how it came out, especially considering I only spent $20 in total! Luca was one happy four year old. :)

Mt. St. Heidi Story: I couldn't find those stinkin tinsel streamer things for less than $30 (for enough to cover the space). I was bummed but thought that was too much money to invest in my lava waterfall. I talked to some of my friends about how I was going to forgo it and Heidi from whiletheywerenapping insisted that he have it and generously splurged for him to have that feature as his birthday gift from her. :) . This made my heart so happy. It's so nice to see such a real family having a real party. No caterers, professional decorators or a several hundred dollar cake. This is far more meaningful and real. I'm pregnant with my first and I so look forward to having parties like this for my child.

I think this is the best kinda birthday gift parents can give their kids! I am only 19 but hope that I still remember this when I have kids of my own so I can give them such incredible birthday experiences as well. My parents weren't really all about the deco, but we were more of the fun party activities. Where most kids when swimming or bowling (typical dutch kids birthdays) on their birthday, for my birthday we did made/baked an high tea with my friends for ourselves and all their parents, made our own soap, made an easter flower decoration, and lots of other fun activities. Those memories are way more precious to me than the actual physical present they gave me. So I love to see what you do for your kids, they will have such great memories of those birthday parties!

Aww. This takes me back. I remember doing a Wizard of Oz party and a Fairy party for my now 18 year old. The effort never seemed worth it, until her little face looked up at me and said "Thank you mummy. That was the best party ever". 😭😭😭 Well done and 🐻

I still remember the cake I got to make at nursery on my fourth birthday, I love the effort you go to for your kids because they will remember it and look back on it as adults and love it still. That basic sheet cake with yellow icing and as many figures out the box as I could fit on is still perfectly clear even tho I remember little else of that birthday

bitsandclips it’s so mind blowing how fast they grow! I work in at a breakfast and after school club and one minute they’re these cute little bugs that want to play and have hugs and the next they are these sassy little people that want to do everything themselves! Ahaha I didn’t even notice I’d done that 😂 Sister is 18 so keeping alive is easy, just cook her one hot meal a day and make sure she gets up for college.. the dogs are whole different ball game.. feeding, walking and keeping the youngest (& biggest) from trying to constantly bodyslam and hump the pug ..it’s exhausting! But my parents get their first proper holiday together on their own so I’m not complaining! Hope you’re having a wonderful day 💕

I pretty much never comment on videos, but I just had to say how much I enjoy watching yours! Your children are so precious and I love watching you interact with them and Ryan. (You guys are serious parenting goals.) I also just have so much respect for your character and positivity. I know we are only seeing a small sliver of your life and I have no doubt that you have ups and downs like the rest of us, but it's so clear that you make the choice to look on the sunny side whenever possible.
