French is a non dense language (i.e many words, less meaning in each word) that's spoken fast so when people that usually speak french speak english it's common that they insert sounds or small words like if they were speaking french but since non native speakers have smaller vocabulary and the language itself has less filler words it often ends up being something similar to "you know", "uuh" etc. Expecting all people to speak foreign languages the same is foolish
