I’m sorry but this must be one of the most unfactual inaccurate Amarok reviews I’ve seen to date!? Frilly skirt? Goes where no golf or 3series can? Are you kidding me!? Amarok is leagues ahead of the Isuzu and Triton. That’s 10 years old tech you are comparing to this modern, sophisticated, refined and super capable off-road dc to. You don’t even mention the ESP, or 5 star safety ratings or the features that actually sets it apart from the rest. I also love how every journo knocks it for not having a transfer case but can never seem to get it stuck? Do your homework properly “Mr Frilly skirt” This coming from a Pajero, Defender, D3, Hilux D4D owner.
You are clueless on how the Amaroks works. The off road button doesn’t do another than recalibrate the brakes for off road and allow hill descent to work. It doesn’t do anything with gears or “low range” as you put it. As far as going on sand who the hell doesn’t drop air pressure in the tyres.
Mr Jooste i hear you but you have seen nothing Jet.If you go offroud sand spescialy you go manual and putt you traction controll off on the Amarkok.it locks it Taurqe convertor over 1200Rpm..And Believe me This bakkie is cappable.Do some more homework.Speak to Andre De Villiers if you realy whant to go Tecnical.
Would have felt strange in the thick sand if the traction control was not disabled.. Traction off and correct tyre pressures and it handles the worst of the thick sand
