It's nice to see someone taking the time to demonstrate how the infotainment actually works rather than just complaining how it doesn't have any buttons, thank you. 🙂 There are a lot of additional shortcuts and configuration options still. As a MK8 owner let me list a few: - You don't have to swipe the volume controls, you can press them just like any real button and it works great. You can also just press and hold down the volume control on the steering wheel and it will gradually increase or decrease the volume. - If you single tap the power button on the infotainment head, this will quickly mute the audio. If you are playing from a smart phone it will work like a "pause" on the track being played. - You can also mute by swiping right to left along the full length of the volume control on the head unit. - You can adjust the heated seats by two finger tapping on the HVAC sliders (no need to go into the climate menu) - If you swipe down from the top of the screen it brings up a customizable list of "shortcuts". From here you can create shortcuts for disabling traction control, turning on/off the AC, bringing up the sound system equalizer, muting the audio, any many more options. - You can customize the panels on the infotainment screen similar to how you can customize screens on your smartphone. You choose a layout and then place widgets of various sizes on that panel. This gives you some control over the information displayed on your infotainment screen so you don't have to be changing screens all the time to get to your favorite and most used interfaces.
Hi, maybe you would include the features - rearrange icons and create additional screens on the main infotainment screen and the feature to reconfigure shortcuts on the pull down menu.
Hi, I recently bought a 2023 Golf GTI from the dealer and it was quite dissppointing for me to find out that my ACC/Cruise control wasn't activating by pressing the 0/1 button onth steering wheel. For info , I don't have any alarms on my digital cockpit although when I press the side button on the indicator stick to bring up Assist systems, the "ACC" that sits under "Speed" is greyed out and when I try to select it with "OK" it says "Please activate the main switch". I'd really appreciate if you can help me understand the nature of this fault ?
What are the first cars that came with this? I know Golf Mk9 has it (but I didnt find it on the Mk8) and ID3,4 have So what was the first car that had this?
I noticed on my on cruise control, it will only change in 5mph increments, not like my Rav4 that it is per mile plus or minus when adjusting highway speeds. Is there a way to change the default adjustments to be every mile instead of every 5?
