Well, they have sold one of these in the UK next year as I’m buying it! Fed up with all the style over substance small SUVs, there’s always compromises. Rear legroom poor in T-Roc for example. The space in this for the relatively small footprint on the road is fantastic. Well done VW, long live the boxy car!
My mum owns one too! I want one when i can drive because it is roomier than bigger cars and is easy to drive. Good price. But vw have stopped making them after 2020 :(
My mum owns one as well buddies. I rlly like it and the design is nice i think. Tho i cant figure iut why that theyre discontinuing this car because i love it. We prefer it over the proper golf and we love it as much as we did with our new tuguan
Great review of a very good car. I've had my 1.4 TSI with DSG gearbox for over 4 years now, the longest I've ever kept a car, and have averaged around 45mpg with everyday driving and well over 50mpg on longer runs. Having driven over 1 million miles in my lifetime, in more than 40 different cars, the Golf SV is one of the best, and certainly the quietest. Oh, and finally, it comes with a proper key!
The design and the form of cars like the Golf Sportsvan isn´t polarizing but it`s very practical for everyday use because you have a big luggage space like in the VW Turan or Sharan. Nowadays everyone wants to have an SUV but these vans aren`t that big or heavy. They offer so much space and consume less fuel. Good decision of VW for still building a van like this. 👍 As allways typical Autogefühl quality :)
T-roc sells like crazy and Sportsvan is not. Just shows you how irrational people are. Sportsvan is so much better in every way possible. If you did a 1 on 1 comparison, the SV would shit all over T-roc
I get the feeling that this is an excellent vehicle. It looks well designed and functional, good quality, and well designed. The trunk area could be larger and the engine could be stronger. The price seems reasonable although in the US you could get a vehicle like the Lexus NX 300 for the same money.
I thought this review excellent and well balanced. I felt that you gave your honest opinion about this car. You made it clear that the design was function over form. You explained the attributes of this car (exterior and interior as well as handling) very well. I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging review.

Just ordered a new one today, really love this car and with the lower boot I can easily fit my son's wheelchair in without blocking any visibility 👍. I'm getting an automatic so hopefully it's just as good. Great review thanks
I have a 2014 SV/SE - 1.3Litre petrol 125bhp model. It is also on the Mk 7 platform. I found the suspension, especially the rear, too "light", & that created too much body roll on minor roads. Fine on the motorway though. I also had the front bushes replaced with stiffer nylon ones which greatly improved handling. Does the revised version have any changes to stiffen the rear suspension & stiffen the steering to give less body roll than the 2014 model please?
It's probably the 1.4TSI 125HP.. I have the lowered sports suspension on my variant and no body roll at all. Still comfortable. So to be honest I would also look into this when you look at the sportsvan.

I’m not a fan of this “Review”, is this guy a VW employee ? Things like comparing the sales figure from VW golf plus in the the uk from the whole production period, with the the sales figure from the VW golf sportsvan in Germany ! from 2014 up until now, is totally misguiding and misleading, but the sales pitch 50.000 to 140.000 sounds good...but come on guys...! And the way the presenter of this video puts pressure on words on things like bargin, price compare with space..etc. In ny mind The People at Autogegefühl really needs to put their heads together and think about what approach they want to take futher on....

Autogefühl: got to be onest Thomas and say that I stopped the video 13:13 min. in, that was the point were I thought this video biased (as you would call it) toward a sales pitch, rather than review. I've seen quite few of your videos, and and in my mind they've never been layed out in this fasion. Hope that you would put on some other glasses and see this video like a commericial break, and then compare it with one of your other reviews. And by the way, why is this video even put out, concidering that you allready have done such a video on this facelifted VW golf spotsvan ? Don't get me wrong, I love to se you're reviews a I am a subscriber to this channel, but this in my mind smels (not ! like teen spirit) but more than a volkswagen paid promotion...
Jens Hammond Sørensen But Whats wrong with getting sales information? More knowledge is never a bad thing. Personally I find sales very interesting. I guess Autogefühl really just makes the most detailed videos on RU-vid. When it comes to the bias-ness, I really dont see that in the video. Ive seen them having similar opinions on other brands aswell. Cars these days are just so good that its hard to find bad points. I totally understand why you would think the video is biased, but I Suppose that really comes down to the approach you have to the car. Like just think about the interior of the SV, its just plain ugly and boring..... but thats what this car is about, its a utility vehicle so its exactly what to expect and it might sound biased when Brian says great things about that Ocean of Plastic. But thats just because this car is supposed to be like this, its not supposed to be super high quality and full of leather; therefor Brian has a good point, not a biased point.

When reviewing it’s always a difficult balance between expressing your own opinion and the needs of the viewer: too much focus on impartiality can make for a boring clip, too much focus on opinion can alienate viewers and may not be objective. I always try to work with this balance and sometimes I get it wrong. I think that the most important thing I can bring to a review is my honest opinion of any vehicle I test as objectively as I can provide it. I really like this car and the review shows that. I tend to like cars where I feel that the design has really successfully answered the design brief. For me, this car gets in right in every single area. That’s just my opinion, but I can assure you that it is not biased in any other way than my personal taste. Thanks for watching, and taking the time to give feedback. Hi Jens - I enjoyed the video, as a car enthusiast, I love all car videos. I didn't find it particularly biased, and anyway everyone has their own opinions. And we all like different things.
