Stage 1 running 184bhp 320nm and no issues for 6 years. Regular servicing and good quality fuel, keeps up with a standard 1.8 Gti as it’s such a light 1.4tsi upfront. Love mine
@@V1PERB3ATZ I have had No issues at all with mine. Apart from the A/C condensor cracked leaking Gas all the time, but nothing to do with the engine 🙏🏼 I service every 6000 miles instead of 10,000 and use 99ron super unleaded fuel. Not an issue, fantastic motor in my opinion 👍🏼
@@V1PERB3ATZ every 6000 I do an oil change, filter, but overkill but I do 70 mile a day round trip on motorways and stage 1 I’m just being cautious. I got a K&N panel filter, so depending on the condition a wash and re oil but most definitely oil change, oil filter Every time
LOVED my POLO! I took it to Cornwall, France, Italy, Cornwall, Italy, Germany, Cornwall, Cornwall, Italy... and Cornwall. Hahaha. Basically, it went twice round the clock and was still going strong!
I have one of these, they are essentially a poor man’s GTI but on paper significantly quicker and more plush than an UP GTI and can be had for cheaper. The performance is not “fast” but is no slouch, no real need to ever bury the pedal in the floor when driving legally, and the economy and low tax in UK is satisfying.
i didn't think the blue gt's act engine had a supercharger is that an error? confusing it with the older fun but fragile 1.4 polo gti and golf gt tsi? nice series i like the idea and format. Would be interesting to see how it compares to the gti 1.8 version
No you’re correct, I am wrong. I got completely lost down the rabbit hole of research 😂 yes I need to get back on this segment. It’s been crazy busy at work
Almost bought one of these in a nice light blue. Would have bought it but couldn't get enough for my part ex. These cars are quite rare and almost as fast as the Swift Sport I have now. Nice review.
Great video, Tish! I had no idea that VW made a twin-charged engine, I'd love to test one out the next time I'm across the pond. The interior is also quite cool, I love the grey seats with the blue accents. Very unique! Looking forward to more Pocket Rocket videos!
@@AutoSocialUK they do look awesome, and that’s coming from a guy who doesn’t usually like a blue interior. And maybe they had different versions of that engine? Like one version could’ve been twin-charged and another that was just turbo?
@@kvn079 thank you for clearing that up. Obviously I do feel a bit silly now. It’s hard when researching as I found a couple of sources claiming the BlueGT was twin-charged.
@@AutoSocialUK Volkswagen has indeed said little about it. Unfortunately, the 1.4 twin-charged engines were very unreliable and they got rid of it. The 1.4 in the BlueGT, on the other hand, are very reliable!
Having driven one for 2 months after sportier small hot hatch , i'd say it's a good al-rounder that comes out. Someone who's looking for little touch of sport look and feel (exterior taken from polo GTI with golf R32 wheels, 140hp to spice it up a little), without the radicality of a sporty car, will probably find this car perfect. Plus mpg , tax and services aren't crazy ... Why not after all ?
Great review, Tish :) It's not the most interesting car to look at, but I'd be inclined to buy a Polo over the other two. That tax is very low. It certainly wouldn't be that cheap at all in Ireland.
@@AutoSocialUK Not that I can recall. Previously, cars were taxed by engine size. Now it's on emissions. The cheapest tax seems to be €120.00, which are for cars producing the least emissions. There are various tax bands.
There are a couple of ways. I have seen people advertise on Facebook for the service and Volkswagen will also fit it if your car is compatible. They will be able to tell you with the registration.
Painful listening to her. A typical council house girl with the social skills of Stephen Hawking. She can barely round her words off any better than a toddler with a speech impediment. Sorry, but presenting isn’t your game, I would stick to something else.
