Highway FE is about 23kmpl, I travel from Bangalore to Chennai with just 800 Rs Diesel. What does a car enthusiasts like me look for. So far so good with it. Polo owners thumbs up!!
We don't need a car loaded with more features and less built quality,like the maruthi cars made like an egg shell filled with shits.we need a car like polo which focus mainly on build quality and safety.we the polo lovers don't care about the lack of features in it.what we need is only the build quality and reliability for the money we pay.
I own a polo gt tdi and I must say that in terms of performance its a beast...But lacks in terms of features and space for that particular price.... I can also say that it is the BEST car in its segment which offers u this much performance without actually compromising on the mileage...(diesel)... For enthusiasts....Its a complete package..😍
I have 1.5 tdi. Now tuned that car with code6 in Bangalore. Now performance measures are improved like bhp is increased to 130 from 90 and torque is increased to 330 from 240. It's a beast on road now. If I am driving in 80 to 90 speed I am getting 22 mileage. When I am crossing more than 100 speeds why should I care about mileage? pick-up and speed is amazing now. It's more than GT TDI now.
Used a polo gor almost 8 and a half year until it got into a serious accident which happened at the speed of nearly 150 kmph and still the best thing was that the driver came out of the cabin without a scratch even....I used to be a #proudowner #proudenthusiast this car is just phenomenal in terms of handling beans 🤘🔥
After driving the polo since last 4 years. I cant even sit in swift for more than 4 mins. Quality is like generations ahead. It drives so good while maintaining the ride quality. I dont even care for all those gimmicky features. Instead it has some useful ones. Like opening and closing of windows by the remote, speed limit warning, etc.
Akshay Kumar No man, Jeep can't match luxury of the likes Merc, BMW and Audi. Jeep is more known for its SUVs its in all different league than top German brands
That was a very nice video i hve a vw ameo and i face absolutely no problem except the rear seat space and little bit stiff suspension in the city Other wise this car is just phenominal in terms of equipments i feel that there are many of them in this car which the other car dosent have at a higher price also Like- power window remote function,cruise control,auto dimming rear view mirror
Used to be a happy owner of 1st generation Polo TDi highline variant. If you are the only one (you may include 1 passenger) in the car for about 90% of time than just go for this baby. I found it to be the best drivers car in that segment. I had her for but 4.5 year, and had to let her go to get a bigger drive for my self. But I miss her a lot and if I get an offer now to buy her, will definitely consider it with my eyes closed. Only Con- as Faisal said, lack of features. Although whatever you get is of top notch quality and built to last. Understood appreciating this, post purchasing a 21 lac vehicle and being disappointed with how it turned out within 2mnths time. Final point- Still don't understand why Polo's have lesser resale value than the Swifts and i20s. I understand cheaper parts and lower maintenance, but that's the point, that's not needed, you get the best quality parts that last much longer, in my case till my ownership period nothing other than wearable stuff was required to be replaced. Maintenance, rather than doing maintenance 3/4 times a year, you just need to visit service center once in a year where the cost actually is more or less same and you have limited Hassel. Does it not make much more sense now?
The new MQB platform is more expensive and requires whole new process for manufacturing and seeing the demands of Indians for polo (who mostly prefer cheap tin cans) VW is unlikely to invest so much for more expensive polo in India.
Owning a 2014 polo 1.2 petrol manual.. Pros : The sense of strongness in the car which could only be felt if you take ride in it Stability is just awesome .. Seats are comfortable too The build quality has no match ( of course it's a vw tho) CONS: Lack of torque in petrol version Rear seat has adequate space but way too comfortable Volkswagen should give the same horn as it used to give in earlier VW's , earlier polo had a dual horn set up which now has been reduced to a single horn with more power ( which is equal to useless) Rear camera is also an issue!!
I have a Volkswagen polo 1.2 tsi highline and i am more than satisfied with it. The car is absolutely delight. Best part is the built quality. Last night a swift bumped into the rear of my polo. The bumper of the swift came out while we had a hard time searching for a dent in the rear of my car. I particularly love the steering and the kind of feedback it offers and the quality of the interiors. The only thing that lets it down is the service cost, parts and accessories cost. They are highly expensive in comparison to any other brand and as said the polo ameo n vento misses out on some must have features at this price point. A car for safe ride and keen drivers.

(every 15,000 km) - no bluetooth pros: - powerful 1.2L tdi 3 cylinder engine - great performance and mileage (highway 21-23, city 16-18) depends on driver - far better drivability than other hatchbacks - better control when you're one high speed (120 - 140) no vibrations at all - great basic music system....
I am pretty sure that even the GT TDI has received an update recently. I have a 2016 end GT TSI and it comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, rain sensing wipers, cruise control etc. etc. So to say that it does not have any new features or it has not received any update for a very long time may not be entirely correct.
The spare parts are ONLY available at the service center. Some spare parts come from Germany they cost a BOMB. Approximately 8 - 10 times costly than other popular brands.
I have to tell this the only thing about polo is the AC vents are very fragile and I have changed it 3 times in 5 years...except this the quality is top notch.
It's a very practical car in terms of features ,it cover all required and necessary features and last but not the least it's a passionate drivers car it's meant only for the driving seat 🤘🏻☺️
I have Polo TDI (Not GT) and I'm very happy with performance and built quality it offers. Only thing that bugs me is, it doesn't have any top end performance. (may not be true for GT TDI) otherwise, it's a perfect hatchback I've driven till date. :)
The quality which people talks about is right,but due to that it becomes super expensive to maintain,not everyone can afford it,the spares also cost a lot as hell,also the after sales support and availability is pretty much absent,that's why,all the quality and engineering is surely better,but it way more expensive in terms of ownership expenses than brand like i20 and maruti. Honda,skoda,Ford, Volkswagen ownership cost is ridiculously high and for most of the youth it seems easy but when you own a car then you realize about the other practical aspect of it,these two companies give what indian want,blame indian mentality,one more thing surely maruti is over hyped
Volkswagen suspensions especially front will not last long.. steering rack issues are common . And if ur not under warranty u will have to spend 20k for getting it replaced. Another issue was with the injectors which new gen cars are not showing much .. if not serviced properly u will have to pay extras for engine maintanance. Its surely a drivers car and so only vehicle enthusiasts should own it who can take proper care of this car..
Amazing ride quality the only car where I feel grounded safe, 0 body roll even at the higher speed it feels safe and sound. But the servicing sucks. No quality service center in north-east zone. Siliguri is the only place where they have a service center having one technician. And in radius of 400km there's barely any other vw service center known.
My view of polo Cons: # Petrol motor is now became underpowered 1.0, 3 cylinder engine. # No 4 cylinder engines like i20 and baleno .. # The diesel motor should be more refined.. # No rear seat space # No android auto,apple car play and touch screen with navigation. # No updates.. still same design # Expensive maintenance cost
