I miss the large screen of the 510. but I love that this unit is more button-controlled. The 510's scroll bars were a PAIN to use while driving, and dangerous, IMO
hello sir i have a question.. is there any way to add a bluetooth in my stereo? because i only have the "CD, SDcard,Aux" in my system.. do u have any tutorial to install/add bluetooth option? and also, im no sure which model of stereo i have..thanks in advance..
I know this great video is quite old, but I'll ask my question anyway: is there any way to show only turn by turn directions (itinerary) and not the map? Kind of like the old green screen RNS300. On my handheld Garmin I get to that view by tapping the turn signal in the upper left. Is this possible on the RNS310? Thanks!

good review. i have a 2013 jetta se w/convenience (rcd310 headunit) and was wondering if i were to install a rns315 into my car the only extra part i would need is the gps antenna to get it to work? the other thing i was concerned about is if i am streaming bluetooth (which i can already do with my current rcd310) would the navigation soften the music or could only one be in use at one time?
is the cd changer in the hatch? or is it built into the dash like the mk5 jetta's are? and also, there is no bluetooth capability until you purchase the aftermarket VW kit?
Excellent review! I just test drove a GTI with this unit in and it didn't seem to lower music volume when it was reading out navigation directions. Can you confirm or deny this please? It seems like a huge oversight but it might be tied to using iPhone audio and navigation at the same time (rather than just the radio and navigation).
hi so my stock Bluetooth module was water damage and not function at all. if i swap this unit into my car does that mean i have to rewire my mic? and how do i do that?
This 315 unit has the worst sat nav in the history of sat navs... mine can only find around half the postcodes I enter, which is really annoying as my ancient TomTom1 could at least find any postcode you input.
No spoken street names is the deal killer for me. Hard to believe that a GPS with all these features lacks one of the most important ones. Spoken street names make instructions clearer and limit the need to look down at the screen.
+George Simpell I want to be able to move to my destination which the centre rotary cannot do if the destination is out of the zoom range. My old Satnav allowed this function. I know you can get an overview of the whole route via extras but I can't see how you can zoom in on the destination to give an idea of the road layout there.
Nice demo. I still think it is a shit practice of automakers to charge extra for features we get for free elsewhere. You have to pay hundreds of dollars to activate google earth with wi-fi. They are crazy to charge money for that

i have this radio but its giving me very poor FM signal when moving, i have went into the hidden menu and i have noticed that ANT 1&2 are off do you have any ideas in how to switch them on?
