I have had one for over 8 years and never had any problems with it . It always starts , even when left for days in the rain or snow . It's cheep to run and the insurance and service is pocket money . Well done Volkswagen !!!!!!!!!!
Great city car shame about the shitty customer service. VAG really don't give a fuck about the quality (or lack thereof) of the customer service their authorised dealers provide to their customers.
okay , i buy that car on last year september and my car have repair it for 2 time changing gear box and one time power steering. Also i have a suzuki swift buy it at 3 year ago and without any problem. What did you think ??
Remember to road test the car only if it has been standing for a few days because there can be a problem with the clutch when selecting reverse then first gear. The UP will 'crunch' into reverse and resist going into first...not what you want on a Monday morning.
For the last 4 years, Volkswagen group cars have been and still are statistically the least reliable vehicle on UK roads. It is common to see Toyotas reaching 3 - 4 hundred-thousand miles. VAG cars usually need a lot of money spent on them after 120K.
He didn't mention the very common intermittent 1st gear problem did he ? It can sometimes be almost impossible to select 1st gear from cold. And this problem can still kick in any time when the engine is warm. Very annoying at traffic lights as you struggle to select 1st gear to move off with guys sounding their horns behind you 😈
So a Volkswagen through and through. Neat details and touches and terrible build quality. There is no excuse for the problems mentioned, other than the seats. Toyota can sell you an Aygo for less than 8 grand and nothing will go wrong with it for thousands of miles, yet people will say it isn't as well made just because the interior plastic look cheap.
Bought 3 yr old 22K High Up! Just couldn't live with the transmission. Clunky gear change, vibration through clutch pedal and strange noise when changing gear over 4000 rpm. Asked dealer to check it out, told all Up!s are the same! Handed car back and bought a Polo.
it's a VW, of course it will have faults, the ones that don't are built in Japan or Korea. By the way who built that dashboard, Beethoven? cause it looks cheap n nasty. £700 for a new compressor, firstly that's sounds like a bad design if it's stone damaged, secondly I would expect a manufacturer to replace free during warranty, as a matter of goodwill
