This is fast and unprofessional showcase of my conversion of Volkswagen touran to "camper" when I am going to see side to kite surf. It has bed that is 190 cm long - well enough to sleep perfectly :)
Hi Ventsislav! Great work and thank you for your video! You don't happen to still have the dimensions of the individual cut parts? That would really be appreciated.
Looks good! A pattern for those supports that slot onto the seat rails would be really helpful. I've just bought a 2007 Touran to use in lieu of a van and want to put down a hardwearing floor. I plan to make it in two 'halves'; one side the width of one middle row seat, the other side the width of two middle row seats.
hello great work and thanks for the video, I noticed that a lot of people were asking for the dimensions of the individual cut parts? That would be really helpful, thanks
Hi. I really like how you use the seat attachment space for the plank supports! Have you considered instead of having the top sheet overlapping the 3rd row of seats, that they are flush with them? The sheet would then be a lot smaller and you could screw the plank supports and the uprights permanently to the sheet so you just drop one piece into place - would save on setup time. The uprights could also be hinged for storage. Regardless, I'm definitely going to use your ideas in my Touran build! Thanks.
Hi, it is not good idea to make the sheet shorter because there is small but I am afraid uncomfortable bump in the floor just at the beginning of the trunk and I want it covered to be sure that the bed is in one level below my butt - now there is also small bump but it is below my legs and it is unnoticeable . I think if the supports are screwed in one peace it will be more difficult to move the whole thing in place and you must line up perfectly before put it down and also the storage space when you don't use it will be greater - now all is compact and straight. And yes I have small pockets of storage between the supports and I access them from bottom - I usually hide there alcohol form the customs when I am going to Turkey to kite surf ;) I will be happy if you share pictures with me after you finish your project.
Pff it will be difficult - but the most important thing that you need are the supports - it was tricky ! I will try to measure them and put another video maybe ?
Very good idea to cut these pieces of wood so that they fit into the holder of the seats! I like that. Can you get the exact dimensions from them? That would save me time. I hope you continue to have fun kiting
Any chance you can share the dimensions of the small parts? It can be simply taken if you put the piece of wood on a paper and draw it with a pencil. Then you just need to measure the draw with a rule. Thank you!
