volleyball is something that takes years of hard work to be good at. I suck too (I just started) but I know with practice I'll be able to improve. The same goes for you :)

Thanks man, because of this video you helped me make the volleyball team for my high school, my biggest struggle was honestly just serving, I mostly used the first serve and I was getting teased even though they made it over the net and it was a good serve as well. My bumps and sets on the other hand are amazing, I've been on at least 3 volley ball teams, twice in middle school, and now my 3rd time as a freshman for high school. Again i'm very very grateful for this video, i'll continue to practice my serves though, without this video I most likely wouldn't have made the team, again thanks.

Before I wasnt in the team yet, I couldn't help myself notice that I jump low so I decided to search for possible way to make it higher. And I found that program. It was awesome*
Thank you so much for this video. My coach was actually teaching my team the wrong way to serve. When she did demonstrate-if she ever did- the ball would always go to the net. I was very frustrated by not being able to serve and I plan to practice my serves for this coming season. Thanks again!
My tournament is today and still haven’t really mastered my underhand serve. Im consistent but I wanna have a 100% chance of making it Edit: our team came second place. And i did pretty alright with serving

i really love volleyball and im grade six and lived it philippines. my serving is sometimes good beacause the ball that we used in game was hard and difficult to serve but in the next week, we used the best volleyball in philippines called Mikasa (volleyball brand) and my serving is now good. not all boys dont play volleyball but the whole boys at grade 6, 5 and 4 are good at volleyball in SECDEA Science Academy (name of our school) and thats where i school.

@jackjackjo tossing with two hands allows you to control the ball so you don't get the spin that you normally would have in a one handed toss. Depends really on your preference. Good for you if you can do it one handed.
Until recently I had never served a volleyball using any of those methods, ever, and I grew up playing a lot volleyball in church and school. The way I served was with my fist closed, thumb on top of my had, and hit the ball that a way, similar to your first underhand serve, but with the hand closer to sideways than flat, and frankly it works better for me too.

I play volleyball and my best advice is to relax and try and put all the power in your body into that serve. If it doesn't go over just relax and try again. It takes a while to really figure out that "sweet spot" to hit it perfectly. If the ball goes into the net, aim higher. Try to hit the highest point of the ball while it's in the air. If your ball doesn't even go remotely close to the net step up closer and gradually make your way back. If you feel like you're off balance, take an extra step
I know you commented 3 months ago, but here are a few tips: -Use a flat hand and keep it strong and hard -Follow through with your arm after hitting the ball -Throw the ball at a good height and give yourself enough time to hit it.
Hey! First of all, you want to hit the ball with the bony part of your palm. Keep your wrist firm. You want your toss no higher than your non dominant arm can reach. (Basically, lift up the ball with your left arm, and give it a tiny toss.) swing through the toss with your right hand, keeping your wrist strait and follow through.
I'm awesome at everything Exept serving so I'm trying out for Siegel middle volleyball next school year..my dad is gonna put me in a volleyball camp over the summer (thank god)
well make sure that you're side on to the ball a bit like when you're throwing. This will let you get a maximum follow through, adding power. Also get your arm bent when its next to your head but as you follow through straighten it, again like you're throwing a ball.
@TheLeilisa If you play with a system, you will be assigned a position that fits your strength. I play the #3 position which is middle block (at least that is what we call it in Germany). If I am on the front line, after the serve I always go to that position. If your height is a hindrance to blocking or spiking you could always play the #2 position (setter? I don't know if that's right in English) in which case, you will always set or be a back-up to the front line setter...
NinjaPro807 yeah dude i was actually left handed and footed but in kindergarten my teacher tried to make me a righty because there wasn't any left handed scissors
i learned last year. just keep ur palm flat, and use tourque. just so u know tourque is so u dont hurt ur back and its when u turn to the side and swing ur whole body kinda. i guess not swing but turn. hard to explain ask ur coach and they will help gladly
@kennielovesyou98 The easiest way to get past that is to start practicing about 10 feet from a wall and hit the ball like you are serving toward the wall. After doing it like that for awhile and you start feeling comfortable with your timing move back 5 feet and keep going until you can do it form 30 feet away.
my friend says its like 'Painting' a picture. let your hands glide through it. take your time, breathe a little and bounce it a couple times to calm down.
