Review for the new Voloom Hair volumizer and a hair tutorial for making the most of fine straight hair like mine! Buy Voloom: amzn.to/2DLtwlZ (affiliate link) Read my full review: allthingsfadra.com/fine-thin-...
Thank you for demonstrating on your fine, thin hair. Most of the other demonstrations are on thick hair. We fine, thin hair girls can't compare our dilemmas to those with thick hair. Your hair looks great!!!
Good presentation! I definitely noticed the difference. I HAD thick hair when I was younger, almost too thick, but that's not the case anymore. I think I have to get one of these things.
Thank you so much for the review and tutorial! Very helpful! Your hair is great! I have super thin, straight hair that I get highlighted. I have not been able to get it colored or cut since February because of the coronavirus. I read the reviews for this and they are great. I'm so glad I was able to see how this works on your hair! I am definitely ordering it! ☺️
I feel your pain! I just scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks from now. My first one since November!! I’m surviving with color but I definitely need it shaped up. I’ve always been using Batiste Dry Shampoo every other day and it’s the only one that helps and adds volume!
Wow November!! I can't imagine! Mine is 3 weeks from now also...the hair salons are finally able to open! I love Batiste as well...it is the only dry shampoo that gives me volume!
It appears that you and I have the same hair! LOL! My mother also has baby fine hair! I got the Voloom when it was featured on The Grommet. I've only used it once. Then again, I also wear my hair UP most of the time (I'm capable of some really amazing hair styles as long as they are up do's, LOL!)! So I was considering selling it. Maybe I will hold off.
Hi! Nice review, but towards the end you said that the user would probably only see a difference if they have fine hair, but I have VERY thick hair, which tends to weigh down. My Voloom helps eliminate this problem :-) So its good for us 'thick heads', too, haha. :-)
Thanks for the great review! It definitely does add volume, but i'm curious how long it lasts though? I can use volumizing mousse/powder, hot rollers/velcro rollers etc and sure it'll look very voluminous for like an hour, but then it's flat again
+Cindy C I can tell you that this lasts ALL DAY. I'm not paid to say that but it's true. Late in the evening, I can still find my "crimped" hair holding the volume! I don't even use styling products because I think they all eventually end up weighing it down.
I have super thin hair like yours, I get hi-lites so it has more body. I don't think you were getting it close enough to your scalp to get the best results. Your results are great but try again by Volooming closer to the scalp, I promise your hair will be even fuller.
I've actually been using Voloom almost every day since I made the video. My technique has definitely gotten better. I find that if I lift the hair up and then use the iron, it helps. But the biggest difference is that I hold it on my hair for more like 2 seconds. It's made a huge difference!
Very helpful video!!! I've never heard of this!!! Question- Is the waffle crimp the same size on any size Voloom, it's just the plates that are wider/have more waffles? I want a small waffle crimp but I have very long hair. THANKS!
I have what is called the Voloom Classic (it was the only product they offered when I reviewed this). It's best for longer hair because the plate is a little wider but the waffle is the same proportion for all products. Remember that the crimp is only supposed to go close to the top of your hair near the roots UNDERNEATH your hair. It's not meant to wear your hair crimped. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks for your demo and review. What if you want to use a curling iron for the ends? Would you dry your hair, curl the ends and finish with the Voloom?
I think you could do it in either order - dry your hair, use Voloom, then curl the ends OR curl the ends and then use Voloom. But I think the way you suggested it is best.
I've tried products to volumize my hair and it usually ends up making it feel dirty. It's why I don't even use dry shampoo! But no, I haven't tried Aveda Texturizing Powder. (Or maybe I did years ago... hard to remember).
After watching this, I'm left wondering why you couldn't use an old school crimping iron to get similar results... Still that said, this might be worth a look...
I doubt it would work as well but I do think it's the same principle. The question though is.. do you still have an old school crimping iron? Mine went out with the 80s.
Angela Miller Oh yeah! I use my crimper to get volume, especially if I crimp at the roots only and leave the top layer un crimped and teased. It seems like this tool manages to keep the voluminous crimps more natural looking though when your hair moves around. I tend to get peek-a-boo crimps with an old school crimper but that just could be because I have a layered hair cut.
You actually have hair like mine. I feel like no one does. There is no style and no product that can help my hair. Talked to my hairdresser, friends etc. I am not sure your hair is as fine as mine but this is such great news. So the bug burning question... If my hair is so thin, do you think there is any concern with the hair that I don't "crimp" not covering up the crimped portion underneath. Because that would look ugly 😂 I guess I just need to make sure I use a thick enough piece!?
I'm going to be honest. When I've done my hair quickly, I've found some of the crimped section showing through later in the day! They do provide clips to help you hold up the right amount of hair but I really think it's just trial and error.
+Fadra Nally thank you! I'm the rare breed that absolutely loves being in humid weather. Love vacations in humid heat because my hair looks better and full lol. Do u recommend anything else to fix our hair woes
+MonkeyheadBONKERS what works for me is to wash my hair every day (the oils can weigh down fine hair), don't use styling product (which can also weigh down hair - but I do use hairspray), and get a good haircut with layers. It's makes the hair fuller! Also, have your hair colored as the color coats the shaft and actually makes it thicker.
I DO NOT wash my hair every day. I only wash at most every other day (washing daily encourages your scalp to over produce oils). I use a boar bristle brush and brush my hair at least twice a day and I keep my hair UP usually. I rarely use anything other than maybe some texturizing powder (as you know, our silky hair is slippery when freshly washed!) and hair spray to keep a style in place.
Thu Trieu i lost 50% of all my hair about 14 months ago. Now half my hair is shoulder-length or longer, and the rest is about 3 in Long. That's not too bad for volume it's great, but for the ends it's pathetic! Luckily when you have thin fine hair, you think it 10 or 12 in high quality human hair clip-in extensions for very good price! Everyone wants the ones that make your hair long and luscious! LOL I think I'm going to have to just stick to I think I'm going to have to just stick to my dry shampoo for volume
@@DebbieHerbert i know! It takes sometimes to be shipped over but the models are much newer on ali and the price much cheaper as well~i got the new curvy model ones (not the flat one shown in vid), it gives more volume:D i also saw another pink one thats got steam function but it was only 1.5"..mine was a wider 2.2" so one crimp per strand was good to go:)
@@D_kiki999 I'm all about trying new things but getting great value! I'm wondering if mine's so slow because of the Suez Canal blockage? At any rate, I'm looking forward to it. I have thick hair and only want volume at the back crown.
@@DebbieHerbert oh wow could they literally be “shipping” your package via the sea route? Usually all my packages that I bought from Ali or Shein comes with tracking numbers (mostly USPS sometimes DHL) and the tracking usually actives as soon as the pkg lands any US airport, that’s when you’ll see if it clears custom, on route to be delivered blah blah...yea usually takes approx 1mo door-to-door. Contact the seller tho if u still haven’t receive your stuff after 75days of purchase:)
Wellllll, I mean, yes, the idea is the same. You're creating volume UNDER the hair. But when I tease my hair, it's a big knotty mess. With Voloom, there are no knots. So both methods may accomplish the same thing. One is just easier to comb through ;)
