You can all think Im crazy, but watched this twice and was in tears by the 2nd time. The Lion Voltron was my all time favorite show as a kid, it brought me so much joy as a kid when my folks separated, and to see it again for the first time in decades, didnt even know it was available. Guess what Im treating myself to :)

Technically, if you're going to compare the two Japanese animations, it'd be turning 35 (Gundam) and 33 (Go Lion) this year. You can't take an American thing (Voltron as it's as Go Lion as a Big Mac is to a Whopper), and compare it to a Japanese one, you have to compare a Japanese one to a Japanese one. Go Lion is slightly younger.
Happy 30th Voltron, thank you for my childhood memories and positive motivations. My children love Voltron as well and they will have great Voltron memories. We will pass down from generation to generation.
0:55 punches me right in the feels. Emotion overload basically. I love seeing all the teams say the line in unison! I grew up in the 80s, so the original "GoLion" and vehicle Voltrons are my points of reference. My favorite cartoon as a kid!
The reason why I became an artist is because I use to watch these types of cartoons lion,vehicle voltrons,transformers,he-man,thundercats,silverhawks,starblazers,robotech,visionaries,king arthur and knights of the round table, dungeons and dragons, gundam,ronin warriors, too many to list. Compare to today's poor excuse for a child's animated cartoons, the Late 70's, all 80's animated cartoons were best.
Voltrons Lions legs were Painted WHITE In the cartoon because they didn't have the Metalic paint Back in the 80s otherwise they would have been Painted Metalic. And the reason The lions legs Weren't present during Voltron mode is for Easier Animation Purposes. It was much more complicated to animate the legs due to all of the detail so they just removed the legs all together and gave the lions a circular look.
Can you imagine a live action LV film?!!! It would be HUGE especially if marketed as sci fi/fantasy and keep it pg and light and not try to go all dark? Keep the lion colors the same and also the uniform colors.

IKEN Studios I disagree. The film version should be a fantasy adventure film with some serious themes but the world and the characters can be bright and vivrant. Think more Lord of the rings/transformers/avatar type fantasy. yeah i lknow not the best examples but it should be family friendly.
For the 40th anniversary, they should not just re-release Voltron in a huge collection, but also package it with Beast King GoLion, complete with a whole new uncut dub.
