Hello again Colin! Coming back to this video after 10 months! Am currently working on a song and I had to revisit all your videos for Pro vocals! BTW, I have enjoyed automating the various parameters in the Fetish compressor...playing about with the features and hearing what effect it causes upon the vocals. This, to me, is a nice way to learn what each parameter does. I tried tweaking at the attack, release, and output values and was able to improve the clarity and volume levels of the vocal track. First time I am doing this but I feel this will be my 'go to method' of getting the compressor settings right!
Damn Colin. Didn't know about that 'ctrl' tip. I thought you just had to accept the increments the software imposes. Thanks man. That's a handy one. Keep the great tips coming. Cheers
A very good point you made is leaving automation to late stage of the mix, too early and it's very frustrating when one needs to get the level of the automated track up or down in the mix.
SOS. My main vocal mutes every time I pause, but only when the automation is on. If I turn it off it doesn't happen, but then automation turns off. HALP
awesome vid I just have one question what volume should my Mac be at when mixing? I ask because I want a accurate reading of my mixes volume, if u could respond to this it would be just fantastic.
