Which soundcard do you use? I have a Hifiberry Amp2 HAT and it not worked with pi 5. I can not change the master/slave device, so I not get sound. It is fast and worked well but without sound.. :( Thank you
I use the official cooling fan from Raspberry. The fan only runs on start up and then it turns off until I reboot the RPi5 again. First I was worry about the additional noise as well but it's never been an issue. :)
Currently my RPi4 is fully functional and I am very happy with it. RPi5 is a bit faster for loading (you won't notice if you don't have it side by side or been playing on both for a period of time); however, I still have one issue of scanning my music from a NAS which I don't have with RPi4. Hi! My first streamer was Volumio to topping E50 dac. Too slow. Then I moved to Wiim pro for qobuz streaming (SUPERB) but the collection of dsd can't be read by Wiim. Then I learnt the new Pi5. Does it work with external dacs through USB? Is it truly faster?
@@leonardopapantoniou4227 Hi Leonard, just saw your post. What do you mean "Too slow"? I heard the E50 is an excellent DAC for the money spent. Which Raspberry Pi did you use? Which version of Volumio? Even with RPi4 I am very happy with it on all aspects. I have about 120k songs that I have on my NAS playing through RPi4, RPi5 and TBS (of course, one at a time). At this point, I am extremely happy with my set up on any of them with Topping D90mqa. Yes, it does work with external Mac through usb port and for me it's fast enough. Andy
