I gave my '84 242 intercooled turbo a rotisserie restoration over the past few years. Now it's probably one of the cleanest (and most powerful) 242 turbos in the US. It's my pride and joy. It was my first car and I've owned it for 20+ years.
Hey!! Great car! These 242's have been sold allover aurope and there's quite alot of them in scandinavia, so there's loads of them there. I have one of the European 242 DL's in the UK that i have imported a few years ago that i am working on currently. Great work!
@@CarsofSwedenlive I know what it is, but sweden and all the european countries had many of them, so it's not that uncommon in there. Please come over and see my progress on mine ifg you fancy!! ;) Be well!
I bought a 1982 242 glt a few weeks ago and has remain stock for all his 40 years. Now that I have it, I still debating if to keep it stock or upgrade suspension, turbo add intercooler and more. Car has about 235,000 miles. Are these car worth more stock or slightly modified? No swap or things like that.
I own one of these. That's not a real turbo. The coffin hood, N/A intake manifold and 2.3L engine were not options on the GLT versions. This is (like mine) just a normal 242 with a turbo slapped on the engine (as god intended). They made tons of these all over the world, not rare at all. The actual turbos (flat hoods) are very very rare indeed.
@@CarsofSwedenlive, I am actually over in the UK so might not be so easy to attend, but if I know we'll in advance I will try to make one of the shows.
The Auctions are online (bilwebauctions.se) But we try to do a review on the channel just before the cars go up for auction.Bil web also ship cars worldwide.
@@CarsofSwedenlive, awesome. Thanks for the information. I can't wait to buy some Volvos 😊👌🏼 I got 1% Swedish in my DNA and that 1% is making me want to buy a few Volvo cars I would love to restore the one my son bought and drive it to a show in Sweden. What are the popular Volvo shoes in Sweden?
