Couldn't you also put a bleed valve/boost controller at the overboost solenoid to keep it functioning as a fail safe but at higher psi? Or just tee off the w/g line after the boost controller? Seems like it should work (I don't know myself though). I love how these cars are as simple as they are.
you know i never thought of that but i cant see why it wouldnt work.. yea man thats what got me into them in the first place ! ease of modification and reliability
The sounds from the alarm fob means it needs a new AAA battery. It has about a half mile range. You can put the alarm in valet mode to keep the alarm functions off.
when you get knock you get higher octane :p else its kinda useless. but if the ecu got knock sensors with ignition adjustment based on knock you could gain hp by using high octane fuel.
Are you sure that m46 is bad? If its hard getting into 1st gear and grinds between gears it sound to me like the clutch is not disengaging enough, just try adjusting it first.
@@mattdunham4706 I'm not sure if/when Volvo started using hydralic clutch on 740/940 but the older ones that are just using a cable are adjustable by turning a plastic wheel on the bellhousing, right where it's holding the cable.
I will buy a Lawrence T-shirt for sure. Question, whats the difference of running a manual boost controller compared to a adjustable wastegate? Which one is to prefer
there is many guys who have converted a non turbo to a turbo , since these cars came turbo you just need the turbo ecus as they have proper fuel and ignition curves for a turbo car , you wouldnt want to run na ecus
Drifts N' Lifts I didn’t even know they had an adapter for the cd...I would definitely go that route instead as well. I just want something that’s more reliable once this m47 takes a shit and something I can confidently beat on
@@TURBOMOOSE guess he will have to pick one up next time he drives in mexico hehehe. We have a overflow of m90s here in sweden as i think you would imagine😂
You can tap into one of the vacuum lines on the manifold and run the gauge’s vacuum line through one of the unused plugs in the firewall. Just got my gauge installed yesterday this way
Are you sure you don't have one? I thought my 740 had an open diff but it actually had a broken g80 already. $900 at a tranny shop and it's working mint again.
G80's are not very strong, why not install a TruTrac in the diff? It's a DANA(30?) diff so some Jeep parts also fit in the Volvo diff You have to do some research. For me it's already a long time ago that i messed with Volvo's . I don't remember the details anymore.
Having a issue hopefully you can help got a 1994 940 and will not boost at all actually shows vacuum on stock gauge hit me back and we can talk more about it
The fuel is automatically added when there is more boost . The ecu sees more air past the air mass meter and inputs fuel accordingly . The max it can compensate is 14psi on the stock turbo
@@driftsnlifts oh cool, only ever had NA redblocks in the past, so i really have no idea how turning up the boost would work. This video was really helpful though
I ran about 20 psi 1.5 bar in My 740 turbo intercooler untill i trashed my 1st and 2nd gears now I have a m47 and I run about 15 psi or 1 bar. I have other injectors a little over 800cc and a 16t13c turbo :D
