Hello & welcome to a new episode, In this week's episode we go and film a very rare Volvo 850 R, This car has been sat in a garage since new, over 2 decades its sat awaiting rescue, the story is the old chap liked to buy cars and drive them only to abandon them in favour of a new one, Money wasn't an option, We all wish that to be a factor in our lives haha, but most can only dream
Also in this episode we feature a one owner from new ( same owner ) ford mondeo with a staggering 27k miles,

I had a V70 and it was a joy to own,1998 and I got it in 2015 and it still drove like new with 125k. Only sold it to buy a mondeo with a heated front screen for quick clear frosty mornings.

I recently had one for an oil leak which was from the corner of the head, removed engine stripped and inspected replaced all useables belts seals ect reconed the turbo and what a motor it was loved working on it and loved driving it after.. they are worth every penny 👌👌👌👌

The owner didn't care soon as he got board he would just buy another car them 850r are really rare now and to think they started life in BTC and did crazy well wat a shame it's a right mess because how long it was sat rotting away I hope it gets rebuilt as they are quick and worth money now wat a good find thanks for showing us stu keep up the good work mate

The first and only place to check for 850 structure rot on a neglected one is the front of the rear inner wings and edges of the rear seat pan near where the main delta link mounts are, Apart from that they suffer no major rust issue's

According to DVLA this Volvo has never even had its first Mot? So it must of been parked up before the 3 year warranty from new had even ran out? Very strange??? 🤔

Technically yep as it was registered August 1996 and tax is due: 30 April 1999 but Dvla doesn’t show Mot history that far back, the earliest you can see online is 2005 so even if had an Mot pre 2006 it won’t ever show it online.

The water in the rear footwell is caused by blocked bulkhead/ scuttle drains, once blocked water rises up the side if the heater inlet then comes out throgh the heater vents under the front seats

I would love to have yhis wagon i would probably have a better chance of getting this volvo wagon running than the 1997 mercury sable wagon i have right now i paid $525 for it the odometer says it 127,042 on the moter but the carfax said it had 400,000 so it may end up scrap metal but this wagon is on very good shape just really filthy

thats a poor mans 850 R the better one is the 850 T5-R the difference is the 850 R has rdesign trims & Naturally Aspirated engine compared to the 850 T5-R which has rdesign trim level & 2.4 turbo charged engine
