Thank you again for a very useful video. I just bought a C40 -- I gave up on the Polestar because the local (Atlanta, Georgia - big market) dealer has still not opened after many months of promises, and the closest one was 250 miles away. This is slightly more FUN than the XC40, and was actually available. I still think the Polestar is far better looking, but, OK. One functional note: Yes, the view out the back window is bad, but the Fold Headrest switch in the menus makes a huge difference. The integration of the power delivery and braking of all four wheels in less than perfect conditions (everywhere!!) is excellent, as in the Polestar and XC40. The suspension tuning is very neutral and easy to balance front to rear with the throttle, or rather, go pedal. The seats have a large range of adjustment and hold you in nicely in hard corners. Just FUN.
I've had my C40 Recharge Twin for about 5 months and love it. The range is fine for what I need and the car is FUN to drive. One pedal driving is easy to get used to and there is no going back for me. Great car.
@@TotallyEV initially it was availability. I could get the C40 more quickly. I liked the boxy exterior of the XC40 a little more but prefer the interior of the C40, especially that Swedish mountain landscape with the ambient lighting. I also think the C40 drives a little better and for some reason the Harman Kardon sound system reverberates (for lack of a better term) a bit better in the C40. It could be completely in my head but it feels that way. Ultimately I think the C40 was the better choice for me. Thank you for this video by the way!!
Really great review I drive a Volvo xc40 r design B4 I have driven an xc40 ev it was really amazing however it’s all oboist range until I watched this review and you explained about the device on range and where you can charge which makes it more acceptable 👍
@12:54 you can leave the AC on by pressing the AC menu and then "parking", there you can active the AC for 30minutes even if you shut the door. Too bad same can't be said about the infotaiment. Works from phone app too.
Love the C40 too but I personally felt more connected with the XC40 Recharge and picked that car instead! But the C40 is nevertheless still an amazing car ☺️
Note that while the C40 has a terrible rear view, the views of blind spots is quite good, much better than in the XC40 recharge, due to the latter's thick C-pillars. Also rear-seat passengers have better side views in the C40 than in the XC40 Recharge.
I bought a C40 First Edition slightly used... I have a Tesla Model Y Performance on order, but got tired of it getting delayed over and over again. Wonder what to do when it's finally ready! Sell the C40, and go with the Y, or keep the C40 and forget about the Y...
This Volvo C40 has a steering wheel vibration very bad when you drive 65 mph, Felt UNSAFE to drive, especially at high speeds. @Volvo, If you have a defective product, you need to take care of it, you know this is not the only one.
@@TotallyEV I brought my Volvo C40 to a dealership for the vibration issue 5 times, and both the dealer mechanic and manager, as well as a Volvo engineer, have experienced and acknowledged the vibration issue I've been having, I have all the video evidence to prove that. However, despite contacting Volvo about the issue, they have stopped replying to my emails. I will contact local news and file a Lemon law
