When looking for problem or instaling new air compressor please look closely accessory drive gear on back side of engine and other gears they have much problems going bad . Recommend to replace discharge hose connecting to air dryer (is 90% clogged with carbon buildup)and is 1 of 3 most popular reason for compressor to fail ( 1 gear problem on back of engine, 2nd air like on truck and trailer air dryer air bags unions and connectors etc, 3rd is carbon buildup in main discharge line ) in other words in order for air dryer and air tank to receive 125 PSI compressor head need to exceed pressure over 150-160 PSI and cause compressor to fail.
I'm doing a d12 and the gear on the compressor seems to be keeping the compressor from sliding all the way off , the compressor and the rear structure have a 2 inch gap between them but I can't get it to come all the way off

I’m doing this job today and my compressor is identical except for the gear set up mine has just a shaft with a threaded end with just a nut the secures the gear the shaft has a green hash I presume to be for timing but seeing I am just a man with tools I have and can find no information regarding correlation between timing and air compressor for this motor
My air dryer constantly purging... I've put a new one, still got the same problem... there is no air governor for my truck, it's built in the dryer which is electronic with valves... Any idea why it's still constantly purging?
If it's an electronic one you should do a calibration after installation, you need somebody to connect computer with tech tool and do calibration for new air air-dryer!
@@valeriumoscalu7580 I asked volvo tech, he said no calibration needed for electric air dryer... he was guessing it's most probably the unloader valve on compressor, from too much carbon build up the unloader valve might no function properly. Going to replace the compressor next week see what happens.
@@garysargsyan4998 there is a blue line or sometimes black 1/4 it usually goes from governor to compressor on your case it goes from air dryer to compressor remove it from air dryer connect a air pressure gauge and build some pressure and see if the pressure will stay like this , if the pressure will go down then you have an air leak or in the line itself or inside the compressor, the common problem it's the leack where the air line is connected into the fiting on compressor because of the heat the airline usually start to break!
@@valeriumoscalu7580 there are only 2 lines connected to compressor. Air supply line to dryer and one tiny line out of dryer to the front of the compressor.
Hello I'm in need of help... I'm seeking a compressor for a Mack midliner with a Renault engine... The compressor is a knorr bremse 75mm belt driven one but I can't get it anywhere ... Been looking everywhere for 3 years ... Can any other truck compressor be used ... Is there any other brand that is single piston and belt driven
