Had the exact same problem today on my 2007 V50. i didn`t have to remove the trim as i could see the module through the stem trim and was accessible to hit it through the steering hight lever. Thanks for the video, it helped me out of a "sticky" situation.
Had the same problem. I suspect there is a bolt or something that gets stuck and don't make contact to whatever so the signal gets interupted. I want to remove that part, open it at get some lube in there. Has someone already done this? Had to smack that bitch twice already. Unfortunately I now drive only with a hammer in my car
I already had this model a few years ago. There were many problems in the electronics and engine and are difficult to solve. Unfortunately. I like the timeless design of the C30
Actually I even managed to fix it without removing the cover. That piece of shit part is visible through gap and some tool fits to get it inside. And then few good knocks and voila! - engine starts. Anyways thanks for hammer idea
Mam to samo w xc60. Na razie próba ruszenia kierownicą działa, ale trzeba wyczyścić wewnątrz tego modułu co klepał ten króciec by się wysuwał i wsuwał bez oporów. Good job
У миня такая же была проблема, тока я разобрал зажыгане там один усик медный плоха контактирывал , и проблема решылась, атак тоже по полчаса клюшом крутил
I've had this problem for a few days, I accidentally fixed it by pressing the brake as well as the clutch pedal and it starts every time now, not sure why, I never had to do that before, just the clutch pedal. Who knows?
I had this also. I think there is some random sequense, However nonsensical. My steering would not unlock, nor could I get the keyfob out of the dash. (2007 Volvo S80). I found that you could get the key out if you released the foot brake (I automatially pressed this as it was automatic). I tried calling the AA (British Breakdown Recovery agents) that did nothing. They checked the voltage on my battery. Tried a battery booster, nothing. Tried a battery reset (disconnecting the battery) nothing. I was parked next door to a local garage whose owner had an XC 90 for a few years. So I thought that would be my first visit. Before I approached this garage I thought I would give it one last try. Got in, inserted the key.... no "click" to release the steering wheel lock. In frustration I shook the steering wheel to the left and right (quite aggressively). Guess what... I heard a "click" releasing my steering lock. It has been fine since last Friday night and it s now Thursday. I have no clue what caused this. But I now have some specific things I do. I park with the wheel straight. I get in, put my house keys in the glove box. I do NOT touch the footbrake until I have inserted my keyfob and the steering lock has gone "clunk". Then I press the foot brake and press the start button. I realise this makes no sense. .... but it works!
Destápalo y dale el clásico "golpe técnico" a esa caja bajo la columna de dirección. Quién sabe por qué pasa, a mi me sucedió ya un par de veces, la primera vez intenté haciendo un "reset" desconecté la batería y funcionó. La segunda vez no, y vi los videos en donde justo dan el golpe en esa caja que es el sensor de posición de la dirección, y ya con eso se resolvió.
