Volvo S70 T5 - A Turbocharged Armchair For America? 

How nice to see that Steve Berry from Top Gear and his wife are looking well and have bought themselves a nice, sensible new car. I’m amused that he sometimes forgets which car he bought. This was an informative film as I’ve often wondered what sort of person would buy a saloon Volvo rather than the estate and now I know. Americans and Scouse yuppies.

Great to see Steve still doing motoring journalism. If I recall correctly, he did review this car(in estate form) on the old Top Gear in the 1990s.

My cousin had an 850 T5 in British racing green, it was fabulous. I had an Omega 3.0 Elite.

I had the later one as a T5, loved it!. Was able to get a single divan bed and mattress in the back with the tailgate shut!

Yes, these were very solidly middle-class cars at the time. Safe, comfortable, and respectable, plenty of power and good looking. Also, you could spec these up very high, I like them, especially when I see what Volvo are making now.

If Steve reviews a car he reviewed on top gear it would be cool to splice in a clip from the show to see if what was said about the car when new had held up today

Not that much of a car guy due to being partially sighted and therefore having no license ..but i did grow up in the 80s/90s and i am northern. So however this vid got into my feed, it has earned you a sub👍

What a breath of fresh seeing Mr berry, I had a 850 TDI with the 5 cylinder VW motor which was a fab family motor especially after the remap

The Nedcar you mean is in the Netherlands and only made the S40/V40 at that time period. You mean Volvo Gent, which produced for instance the S60
