Have you ever wondered how you can transport a 50-tonne house? In this video you are about to find out.
We follow a stubborn work crew as they move a house one kilometre away. To help they have two large cranes and a Volvo FH16 with a custom built trailer. With narrow roads it´s not going to be an easy task - see for yourself.

They only transported HALF the house in this video (see 1:37 to 1:40). Were they planning to go back to the original site & pick up the other half ??

The reason for moving it instead of building a new house is due to environmental considerations, and in order to push the opening of the day-care centre. Otherwise the children would have to wait for a long time while building a new one.

this is sweden, you can be sure they have done the calculations. this is the less costly option :)

I think that Volvo pays the house owner and then film it as a stunt, testing the truck's performance instead.

The trailer looks so skinny underneath that load awesome job tho our standard trailers for housemoving in New Zealand are 3m and 3.1m wide and can lift from 900mm upto 2.7m high

It's Not about the money. New house would be cheaper, YES *BUT* the main idea is the Volvo Trucks managed to moved 50 Tonne House. It's just like moving a *Boeing 737-400 with fuel, full of passengers and cargo.*
