Quick and easy step-by-step. Replacement of parking light on a 2008 Volvo V50. At the end, LED lights are installed. I am not a professional. Please read the Volvo user manual, or call Volvo, on how to replace parts.
You are my savior. I'm glad this video popped up when I searched for daytime running light replacement because that's what my technician told me this light was called. Turns out he was wrong!!
Here's my tip for pulling out the light bulb from that tiny hole: I was able to loosen the bulb quite easily by pushing slightly from the side with a screwdriver (from the top hole of the case). Then pulled from the cord gently to get it out. It might help if you open the bigger lid on the back of the case as well, at least when trying to put the new bulb back to its place.
by the way, this bulb doesnt need to be rotated - its just a push fit. I got it out by using a long nosed pliers and pulling gently on the cables very near the bulb, while trying to rock the bulb holder from side to side ( I gripped the cables on the sleeve to avoid piercing the insulation. You have to be gentle to avoid damaging the connectors - but they are quite strong. When you put it back in, you can actually put your finger on the end of the bulb holder and push. You will hear a faint click, which is all you need. Its 11.30pm and it would have been a nice video if yours truly had just added a bit more...
How is that a rubbish video? Rubbish comment more like. I tried this today and could not reach the bulb holder so gave up. I did not know you can remove that little circular cap. I will do it again now I know how. Many thanks for the video.
Does the parking light bulb socket come straight out or does it need to be twisted first and then pulled? Ok. I've read the other comments. I need a bent pliers.
