The following video reviews the process of changing the valve cover of the 2-liter VEA Diesel Engine series. Having a blown valve cover gasket isn't unusual for this series of engines due to the PCV design, which is often one of the reasons for fair oil losses and surely making a mess on the road everywhere you park. The process should be applicable to all of the models with D2, D3 and D4 engines with code D4204T-.
Part numbers:
- 32213460 (valve cover revised oem + gasket)
- 31401505 (valve cover oem + gasket)
- 31375192 (just the gasket)

Hi. Did you use vida to bleed the air out of the system, or is that not necessary? I've heard some injectors can get damaged if you crank the car with air in the lines. Thanks

I don't remember having seen anything about this in the repair instructions. Regards.

Hi, did you change the fuel lines or did you use the same ones, volvo recommends to change the lines and o-rings for injectors. Currently about to this to my V40 so just want to know if they are charging fair price😅

I have replaced the injector seals only. Replacing the fuel lines sounds like something volvo might do just to avoid any after repair warranty issues. I don't think it's necessary unless works has been done on injectors multiple times and fuel lines have been overtighten and leaking etc.

@@GSAuto681 I didn't think so either, no nothing has been touched on the engine. How many kilometers on your car? Mine has 110 000km, it's not leaving any oil on the ground just yet but I'm sure it will get worse😅
