By all means add a battery hybrid to tick the imbeciles virtue box and the petrol heads extra low down torque/shove factor. Electric only is 10+ years off from worthy to most, unless you're a local or regular London driver regarding the extortionate charges to be there or enter, it's a company car, and if one has either a home or work charger! The cost and "eco ness" /effectiveness is questionable at best!! Virtue signalling is of course another factor. The ONLY reason why Soooooo many cretin Hollywood actors felt the need to drive a prius in the early stages of bu..sh..greensville, aka the depressing future. There will also be hydrogen, greenfuels, normal and updated petrol and diesel and perhaps others. Thankfully re fully electric, they atleast give the owner sufficient cables to end it all 😂
All good thanks mate, how are you? This is definitely a car for people who aren't that bothered about cars. But that's fine and represents a significant portion of car owners. And, to give it its dues, it doesn't pretend to be something that it's not, which probably explains why you see so many of them on the road in their various XC40 guises. Company car tax makes it an obvious choice, too, for that market. How long they'll last for, who knows? Every manufacturer is piling in on EVs so they'll have at least 20 years in the spotlight. And, if you're not fussed about cars and the driving experience, they're really nice to drive! Smooth, quiet, comfy... not necessarily my bag entirely but I totally get the appeal. And they're significantly cheaper to run at the moment. Long distances are still a problem for non Teslas, mind, but if you don't hit the motorway slog too often, it's not much of an issue. I suspect they'll be around a bit longer than originally thought because people will like driving them. That, ultimately, is what will drive demand. Then it will be discovered just how environmentally damaging they are and we'll be back to square one!!!
