Hi norman. The "beep beep" is called Roadrunner. If you press the sifa button (maybe "dead man button" in english?) on the top of the joystick two times, it counts the distance from where you hit it. When the end of the train reached that point, you hear the roadrunner sound. So you can be sure that your train is out of a switch where you had to drive very slowly f.e. The second thing is calles "Zugbeeinflussung". It has something to do with the signals along the track.
Für einen Laien wie mich war das richtig schhööööön! Tolle Aufnahmen, klasse die Stimmung eingefangen, wenn es für Dich als TF mit Sicherheit nicht so romantisch war, an einem -vermutlich- Sonntag den Rhein runter zu saussen :-) Danke für das schöne Video!!
Very nice video. Just spent 3 hours yesterday evening watching this and two other videos You have uploaded. Picture quality shows that You are a very experienced filmer. Your video is so good that one can actually imagine being along for the ride. :) Therefore I have one small plea. Please avoid the timejumps if possible. These throws me off the illusion of being along there with You. RU-vid has plenty of HDD space and I have plenty of time to watch. :) Once again, Thank You for sharing.

Bei Min.20 geschrieben. Ein sehr schönes Vid! Kenne als Reisender beide Strecken. Mit EC, ICE und auch (etwas mehr) mit CNL und ENs (Köln/ Bonn nach Wien). Interessant mal dabei, linksrheinisch, eine Überholung von IC zu IC,so im schnelleren Schritt! Ich im "Schnelleren" (ca40 Minuten+) prostete den Anderen zu ;)

the sound you can hear come from the GTO recitifer of the taurus family ES64U2 (182 in germany and 1116 in austria). Die new ES64U4 (183 in germany and 1216 in austria) does have IGBT recitifiers, so they won't make this sound.
Schöne Strecke , tolles Video .... einzig das ewige Gequietsche im Führerstand ist entsetzlich , entweder der Sitz oder ein Bedienelement ... da wäre ne Ölkanne vor der Aufnahme vielleicht angebracht gewesen , aber super !!!!

I think you mean "Zugbeeinflussung". This message is given by the automatic train protection system in different situations. For example when the driver acknowledges a warning signal or slow down sign. Try looking up PZB in Wikipedia for more information.
Suggestion: Instead of clipping the video, You can delete the soundtrack for the critical moments. I can certainly live without audio for a minute or two while You carry out Your duty. Using a DVC Cam, I know all about running out of space. Only trick available here is to change Tape/SD at the station stops. If You indeed were to take us along for a two hour ride, I am sure we will forgive the 1 min interruption. :-) Thanks for sharing Your videos.
@ccc10156 Thank's man! Avoiding time jumps isn't always possible because of full sd-card or phone calls with the dispatcher and those are def not intended for public consumption. ;-)
