Now that Vorago solos are open to everyone without an alt, I decided to investigate low-end setups. I got some surprisingly great results without TOO much hassle... as long as I did P5 properly and didn't get too greedy. There are some critical mistakes I'll go over soon, but for now let's set the stage for what I'm using and not using.
Using:
- Seismic set with Aftershock 3, Precise 5 respectively
- Wand of the Cywir elders with Planted Feet + Energizing 2
- Subjugation armor with Relentless 5 + Crackling 4, Biting 4, Impatient 4, Enhanced Devoted 4
- Merciless kiteshield with Turtling 4
- Scripture of Ful
- Essence of Finality with Guthix staff
- Igneous Kal-Zuk (can be substituted with a Kal-Mej)
- Abyssal whip + Enhanced Excalibur for Bladed Dive
- A 2h Melee weapon (Laniakea's spear in this case) + Ingenuity of the Humans for Quake
- Spellbook Swap + Disruption Shield
- Fury of the Small + Conservation of Energy + Death Ward relics
NOT using:
- Essence of Finality with Statius's warhammer: by far the MOST important thing missing. Makes every single phase easier and faster. P5 in particular is insanely hampered with Quake instead of SWH spec.
- Fractured staff of Armadyl: losing this loses a ton of DPS not only with the spec, but also the ability to 4TAA.
- Elite tectonic: Higher block chance makes surviving the Melee swipes across the phases much easier, plus extra damage. Blocking Melee swipes on P5 also prevents getting pushed back which helps if you slightly screw up positioning.
- Affliction and praesul set: Minor BiS upgrades over their previous tier that adds up.
- Arcane spirit shield: superior to T90 shields, you don't need the extra long Barricade and the damage reduction makes stacking bombs on P5 so much nicer.
A full Vorago solo guide will come soon(tm), but in the meantime the main goal of P5 if you're starting off is to alternate between Sunshine and Barricade over and over to maximize your push and minimize Vorago's push. As long as you properly rotate those two things, you'll be golden with the nuances with push being more and more clear as you do solos.
As for the kill itself, P1 was garbage because I accidentally reset LP. If that didn't happen, this would have been an easy sub-12. Also some weird suboptimal ability rotations strangely enough. P3 is kinda okay but it just hurts without better gear so you may want to use some defensives to actually live. P5 had minor push problems but it was actually the best P5 I've had with this setup, so whatever.
But that's all I have for now. In the meantime, enjoy!
