Nice video Uncle Vu. Really glad to see you making more content. I always learn something from watching your videos. I just ordered the Raccoon cross bar version and am looking forward to getting it. I’ve used plumber’s tape on a few pivot screws instead of lock tight or super glue. I wrap the threads on the pivot screw and tighten. So far it’s worked pretty good on the few I’ve done it to.
As usual, enjoyed your tip on the raccoon. Been thinking about one of these. After seeing you tear it down it looks well built. Especially enjoyed the "paper rolling" segment. Vu: " I'm going to practice my rolling technique with this regular paper because my rolling papers are too thin".. LOL Just kidding. Thanks Vu!
@@vucachon Mine just arrived today. Green Micarta with Satin Blade. This is my first Vosteed knife. So far I've been highly impressed with the quality of this knife. The Micarta on this one has a really nice feel to it. Has solid lockup too. The crossbar is a bit tight but will try it for a while like it is out of the box. Ya know, for what this knife costs it beats the pants off axis lock. Thanks for shining some light on this one for me! I love it!
@Rob W it is a great piece! It is adjustable, so try out the furthest setting to ease the pressure. After a while you can up the strength once you are accustomed 🙌🙏
Vu i really enjoy your disassembly videos the most. So relaxing to me and I learn cool tricks like the paper tube and the spring placement order of operation. Keep it up!
Vu you really are doing a great job in my opinion. Simple and filled with great tips. I’m a new subscriber. I was recently sent to you from one of leftyedc’s lives and I’ve really enjoyed your channel ever since. In fact after watching a few of your shorts and a disassembly of the kobold 2 I’m anxiously awaiting purchasing it. The action looks insane. Anyway your doing a great job!
Great video, Vu! I learned something about that crossbar lock. I'm still deciding on whether to get the crossbar lock model or the button lock model. Thanks for showing it.🗡👊🏼
I saw you do this with other knives which would be good for on the fly, But I think I'm gonna see what I can find at Homer. Thinking a wooden dowel might also work and shave it down like a Finger ring sizer.
I enjoy your instructional vids a lot! Can anyone tell me the model of this knife? I read online that the Drop point blades were the only one's that are adjustable. so I bought a Raccoon with a drop point blade, & it wasn't adjustable. It was in Micarta Green.
This video is from the first batch of Raccoons. They stopped using the adjustable crossbar for recent batches! The adjustable crossbar was patented by Kizer
Lol have you tried these yet? It doesn't take 2 fingers. You can use 1. And this is the Clutch-Lock, a better, and improved crossbar lock. Sorry, but it seems you are speaking without experience. If you have experience, please elaborate
@@MrSlicer2424 for the price, it is very comparable. I find Kizer's Clutch-Lock pieces better... however a bit pricier. Check out the Kizer Drop Bear or the Escort. Vosteed's crossbars are good, but Kizer's has a more efficient setup
